I think the main difference is the exterior and interior colour, plus the wood trims which is special to the Aegean Edition. Toy included is a bit more than other 530i, although some other stuff has been omitted to balance the price when new (e.g the electric seats and electric steering adjustment). And on the registration document will say '530i Sport Aegean Edit A'
I was choosing between the Champagne and Aegean when I was looking for mine. Went for the Aegean in the end, back then the Champagne worths a lot more and out of my budget.
If you got the money of course you can find the steering brand new. Used ones do come up from time to time but they are arounf £300 upwards normally. I bought new one for about £620 including the slip ring and SMG kit.
When you look in the Autotrader dont just look in one or two places, just search for it nationally and go where there's a good one around. I was in Bristol and seriously I wouldnt mind getting one from Edinburgh if thats where its calling me. Luckily I didnt need to go that far when I got mine.
Those are my opinions only, in the end its your decision what you would want to buy. Some people are content with 525i's, but 530is are the same money over there and offers more toys. Consumption is roughly the same, only difference is the roadtax in Malaysia which is RM880 for the 525i versus RM2077 for the 530i.
Champagne is diesel and not petrol right? Power and fuel consumption is not so much different compared to Petrol right?
Steering wheel bought in US? I found one for USD 730 on ebay, looks similar-not sure it is. I do national search on autotrader. I'm also searching in uk beemer forums as the better and listed cheaper ones are always in the forums RM1.2k is a lot of money which will affect the choice. I can understand why some people go for the 525i. If I am not mistaken the E60 has a lighter kerb weight compared to the E39. 2000 cc road tax is about RM 310. which is quite nice as well. Where did you buy the steering from? Its quite nice to have some sort of control on auto gearbox
I read somewhere online someone says that dealership do not want to replace gear fluid or something-that is for life but people say its best change at 100k km. Anyone has more info on what this is?
