..hi guys..I would like to know, what sort of devices you use as walkie-talkie, during convoy trips..i would like to buy one, but i need to know tech specifications your devices has so i can buy proper one..thanks in advance..

I think any decent 16 ch walkie talkie from motorola / kenwood etc. should do. I think the key difference is just the range. Also, good to get one with voice operating function (i.e. no need to push button to talk) as you'll be driving. Flip side is batt wears out faster.

..but what would be frequency range?? CB (27MHz) or VHF (144Mhz) ?? is it AM or FM modulated ?

We are using the China brand wei wei or tyt Range is UHF 400 - 470 MHz

Another brand u should look into is Yaesu from Japan..i'm using the model FT60 and performs well. but the china made like what Lamoo is using is good too as i can still hear his voice from far :)

there are many china brand dual band in market & their really good.this are a few brand wou xun, quan sheng, hyt.can try to goggle about the spec & review.most of use ham radio member using wou xun or quan sheng for handy, yaesu ft8800 car set for cross band.just get dual band & the price different less than rm200 compare to single band.you will surprise what dual band can do.

Can contact me if you want any walkie.. My company was Motorola Premier dealer.

motorola mostly single band or two way radio like security using & mostly uhf.

Im in for group buy if there is one happening. But i prefer more established brands like Motorola, iCom, Kenwood, etc. China ones are unheard of with unproven track record.

I got 2 Kenwood (China), so far for convoy / car club is good enough to use, price around RM2++ ! And ear phone / batteries all can buy.

Ori Kenwood / Motorola cheapest RM6++ - RM7++ !! Can actually buy 2-3 unit.. If you guys interested, i can borrow you guys test whether go for Ori or copy 1.

I have been using this china brand walkie call Puxing for the last 5 years with out any problem. we have also bought about 15 units of china brand walkie for use the last 2 years without any problem. It is good enough for use during drives. Do not buy the fake kenwood cause it is not able to go up to the frequency that we are using for the drives.

I will be buying some soon so if anyone wants one please let me know by latest next Wednesday. The china ones costs RM350.
