Last night after collecting the WT from uncle Herbert, also feel excited and tried scanning over the frequency see can get anyone in the air to chat/test. Finally pick-up some security guard taking some Myammar or Vietnam launguage.....

Could be Nepalese also.

Usually what is the frequency we used during Club drive? If i am not mistaken it was 495

Herbert,
Can we be informed of the frequency a day or 2 before the drive? I always have trouble remembering how to set and lock the frequency. Being informed in the morning itself will be a rush for me and those 1st time user. Much obliged.

Walkie talkie is under Jarance and I will request him to announce the operating frequency in the Kulim drive thread.
So all of us who has walkie talkies can do some tests during our morning drive briefing session.

There will not be any WT sold with the same bandwidth as the police as it will cause interference with police transmissions. or even any emergency providers frequency.
But HAM radios have the ability to have the same frequency as but will not be able to hear anything as all emergency transmission are encoded.

Generally WT have limited range. compared to HAM radios.
To be a License holder in malaysia it is quite simple as you only have to apply and sit for a exam which is held twice a year if i remember correctly. the guidelines are set by MCMC.

No, the WT are not within Police bandwidth. It is illegal in Malaysia to own WT that have the same bandwidth as the Police.

The WT stated here are for General Public usage or some people may call it "Citizen Band".

There are also some bandwidth that reserved for Port Authority, Aircraft, etc.

ps.. I still have your manual.. feel shy not returning to you. When can we meet so I can return it back to you.
