Hi All,I hoped to get your thoughts / comments on my situation. I installed V-kool 40 on my E92 10days ago. Unfortunately, I was less than satisfied with the installation due to :1) wavy finish & scratched film on my driver side window (replaced after 5 working days because I couldn't accept it)2) V-kool tint on rear windscreen unable to 'stick' to the top part of rear windscreen (due to black dots present) The shop claims that V-kool tint unable to stick here due to it's non-flat surface :(3) Now can still notice minor trapped sand / dust particles on both passenger & driver windows. It's not very obvious but still it's not perfect :(I paid RM2.5k for the V-kool.... wanted to know what u guys would do. Insist on replacements again? Thanks.

yes. workmanship or material defect. 5 years warranty. I got mine replaced after 3 years of usage. You should have your receipts and warranty in hand. If the installer is giving you issues, go the HQ.

When you are there, check and see if there are other warranty claims. There are aplenty.
Re: installation on the windscreen, they should cut the tint so that it won't overlay the blackdots.

Insist on replacement. If its what u describe, I will insist. If after the 3rd attempt and its still bad, u should contact HQ to see if u can use other installers. And VKOOL cannot touch the black dots, so the installer is correct.

I just replaced my other car's tint film few days before 5 years warranty expired. I wanted to complain peeling because one small section of the driver side window, the film is larger than the glass so its protruding out and start to peel. When I drove the MPV back to V-Kool HQ at Sec19 PJ, the "inspector" noticed stretch marks or streaks on all windows, despite minor he advice replace all. With warning that the removal may have a discrete chance to damage my rear window defogger. I looked at him and ask him to proceed. I never use the defogger for the past 5 years because I have a rear wiper! duh!

Btw, I'm not even using V-Kool, but SolarGuard, one of their represented low cost product.. :p

What I'm trying to say is, grab your warranty card along, go to the V-Kool HQ at Sec19. They will do everything for u, for the sake of jaga-ing the brand's image.

Another advice to all. If your insist to claim V-Kool warranty, don't go there the last day of the warranty because u must allow time for them to perform the warranty replacement, "WITHIN" WARRANTY PERIOD. :stupid:

I dunno was it just me or the quality of VKOOL nowadays is not as good as years ago. The VKOOL on my car is still intact after 8 freaking years and my friend's VKOOL is already streaking after 2 years.

My v-kool tint extends to the black dots area in my front windscreen and it's been good for the past 2 years. I think it all boils down to how good the installer is.

I had mine done at the Tint-Shop in Taipan.

Mine came with the car. Was done by previous owner...=)

I had mine installed at the HQ at Section 19 itself. No issues at all for past 6 years..

Cheers :)

Agree with Loafer. The material itself is the same but the difference is the quality & expertise of the installer..

Cheers :)

the one in taipan screwed up my install but they removed, claimed warranty and re-installed a new one. However, getting an appointment for replacement takes a veeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyy looooooong time because they give priority to new installs as money flows....

Better go to V-Kool HQ at Section 19 as the capacity there is much higher. Just bring along your warranty card or call them for warranty appointment.

The Sec19 office open on Saturday too. When I did my warranty claim, I drove the car to a morning golf session, then only drop it in the evening on Friday. Job done on Saturday noon. No hassle!

is there a way to or a tinter to remove the rear tint without damaging the demister?
