Now my racunzzzz for everyone hehehehe ...

Saw this on FB and my jaw just dropped ... The emotions and feeling it gives me is similar to what i felt every time i look at the E46 very hard to describe so i let the picture do the talking:-

Now the lip and height may not be practical for m'sian roads but the overall dimensions, the lines and the wheel works so very well. I'm sure the upcoming F30 M3 lagilah meleleh

Something to aim for for the next 5 years hehehe ...

I'm not going to lie,yes it gives real satisfaction especially on highways but if you got a heavy foot like i am then the maintenance bills can be scary :4:

How's your E30 bro .. any pics to share? Been reading your post about engine transplant ... The E30 still turning heads until now ... hope i can own one too in the near future

A few updates on maintenance and parts replacements:

July 20th:-
My aircond been blowing unevenly for the past 3 weeks ... One vent gives out cold air while the other give out hot. Replenish the aircond gas temporarily solve the issue for about a week then it comes back again ... Decided to see Dr. Aircond aka Naidu
IMG-20120720-00828.jpg

Within 10mins of sitting in the car he diagnose that it was the heater valve that is causing the problem.
Naidu's staff removing the air intake hose

New parts arrived :4:

installation in progress
IMG-20120720-00838.jpg

New heater valve installed and looking purty
IMG-20120720-00839.jpg

The top up radiator coolant and water ... bleed the system ... Done! The delivery of the parts took longer than the installation lol I'm very impressed with Naidu's diagnostic skills when it come to car aircond system. Other workshops that i went said it was my compressor which would have cost easily 1k and more ... Cost me RM450 all in and i'm very happy with the results :top:

July 25th:-

Brake pads have about 10% left ... Called BA and they quoted RM390 for original and Textar for RM145. Big difference in price. Due to unfavourable feedbacks given by forumers in this forum in regards to Textar i decided to check out the alternatives. From what i've read Jurid has a pad that is comparable to the original and cost less than the ori pads .. It's called Jurid JAS .. bought it for RM260 :4:

IMG-20120725-00850.jpg

IMG-20120725-00853.jpg

Decided to buy the small bushings caliper repair kit ... Which according to my mech it's a waste of money since those parts rarely needs replacing ( i felt really silly after hearing that lol) RM32 for one side
IMG-20120725-00854.jpg

IMG-20120725-00855.jpg

Installed :4:
IMG-20120725-00856.jpg

After installation i did the brake pad bedding-in procedure

It's been almost 3 weeks now and all i can say is that the Jurid JAS is pretty close to the original bmw pads. Initial bite when cold is the same, when warmed is the same only when braking aggressively does it falls a bit short compared to bmw ori pads. Another point is that it's quite dusty too lol

Will update more on the brakes in a week time.

salam bro B33mEr,

My e30 still compiling info, and items required for the mod, am definitely going for the M52TU, currently its so plain and standard with the M40 1.8 engine even my old wira can move faster.
when I bought the car the exhaust system gave way after a week, have changed both the tabungs, and put in a 2" pipe all the way from the manifold. so far look s good. Once I have the engine swap done will post pics.

Selamat Berpuasa

W'salam,
That's a good choice for the engine bro ... Have you ever considered putting in M54B25 or B30? There's several projects that have been done before ... It's pretty light and the torque just makes the car fly ... But if the was swap is straight forward for the M52TU compared to the M54 then the M52 makes a more sensible choice imo

All the best on the project bro :top: Hope to see your ride soon.

Selamat berpuasa to you too bro :top:

So my QuikSilver is now officially 10 years old :4: It roll out from factory in Germany on Aug 2002  Been driving her for 4 years continuously almost every single day. She's my family car, my sports car, my weekend car, my grocery getter car, she's been my pain and my pleasure LOL. I love her to bits and i wish i can treat her better but alas due to family commitments she's been looking really rough. Slowly but surely will nurse her back to health looking prim and proper. Starting with a full cooling system overhaul:-

Water pump by Saleri an Italian water pump specialist. OE for Ferrari

Radiator bracket for SMG/Manual cars ... This is the piece that been holding me back as most part suppliers didn't have it in stock few months ago
IMG-20120731-00903.jpg

Thanks bro :4: ... Will share the total cost on the following updates :top:

10yr old radiator taken out made by Behr ... Definitely seen better days lol
IMG-20120731-00916.jpg

She was already leaking for the past few weaks ... Having to top up water every few days
IMG-20120731-00915.jpg

IMG-20120731-00913.jpg

10yr old water pump taken out
IMG-20120731-00910.jpg

looking rough but i reckon still functional. What is interesting that the impeller is metal and NOT plastics as what is claimed by others on e46fanatics.
IMG-20120731-00911.jpg

Radiator being installed ...
IMG-20120731-00907.jpg

Radiator bracket installed
IMG-20120731-00925.jpg

Water pump installed
IMG-20120731-00947.jpg

So since then the radiator, bracket, water pump and lower hose has already been installed. That's the EASY part lol the hard part is installing the hard pipe (no pun intended) that connects to the engine block ... Thus it requires the removal of the intake manifold
IMG-20120731-00917.jpg

Almost there ... Intake manifold was PITA to take out as there were a lot of wiring and cables were in the way. Patience is a must in this case lol
IMG-20120731-00918.jpg

Hard pipe installed ... It's quite tedious and does require a fair amount of time
IMG-20120731-00948.jpg

Pouring the BMW coolant ... Only then start pouring the distilled water. Why distilled water is because it's purely water no mierals or contaminants that can form scales inside the radiator system. It enables better heat ransfer as a result.
IMG-20120731-00953.jpg

Pressure tested at 1 bar to check for leaks ... From what i gather M54 engine cooling system runs at 2 bar thus i'm not sure whether it's ideal to pressure test at half the working operating pressure level.
IMG-20120731-00950.jpg

Will update more with part III tomorrow ... Now need to get some
