Not sure too sure as to what actually happened but judging from the absence of any other damaged vehicles in the video, it is most likely that the Golf GTI collided with the Nissan R35 GT-R and that set off the resulting inferno. This video was uploaded on Saturday the 19th of Feb.It looks like the GTI could have perhaps gone too fast and understeered onto the next lane, clipped the R35 from the opposite direction, and the GTR spun out and hit the tree and exploded. Anyway, its not too clear as to who was at fault. The accident probably occured near Kuala Klawang and this was later confirmed by a friend from the Volkswagen Golf Club of Malaysia. No further details were forthcoming however. Hope no one was injured and that the car is insured.Drive safe out there people. Theres no place for ego on our roads.http://whatadrive.blogspot.com/2011/02/r35-gt-r-catches-on-fire-after_21.html

It caused quite a stir in car forums outside malaysia ... Another story is that the GTI hit the GTR at the rear. From the pics you can see that the front of the GTR does not have the tell tale collision. One interesting note is that the engine, bonnet and doors literally melted (aluminium i think)

"Upon bein hit in the rear by the Golf GTI, the car came to a full stop at the side of the road. The GTR's hot exhaust pipes then came into contact with the local foliage (dry leaves) and this started a fire."

the dry leaves then caught fire is hard to believe tho lol

car didn't catch fire immediately, so no casualty.....

Moral of the story, driving hard on public winding road with blind corners is risky... back off when approaching blind corners... Don't push ur luck too much thinking there won't be oncoming cars....

Know ur limits and the car's limit... ur driving limit has to be higher than the car's limit... So modding the driver is more important than modding the car...

idiot, he should have bought a bmw and this would have happened XD

The driver would probably oversteered and how he wished he drove an Audi Quattro instead.

The GTR is AWD much like quattro

All golf GTi drivers seem to drive carelessly (from my observation on the road when encountered with them..), weaving in and out of traffic like nobody's business..
Seems like the drivers want to show off -"MOVE away , i got GTi here " attitude..
Sorry to the owner of the GTR, wonder how much he can claim from the insurance..

been riding a few times on the Kuala Klawang on bicycle, can't see a spot which resemble the accident site though...
