Hi all,

Recently I've been hearing of this ECU which is supposedly from Germany which goes by the name of M-Tek http://www.mtekpowerworld.com/ and https://www.facebook.com/pages/M-TEK-ECU-Germany/570231249688475

They've posted some good dyno gains after installing the chip into many BMW models (F30, F10). It looks like the same setup as Race Chip, SpeedBuster, etc. I can't seem to dig their history nor can I find proper reviews of it being used for some time and the effects it has on the engine, FC, etc. Any owners using this ECU mind sharing their experience?

Thanks

I heard of the brand and I know lately they have been quite aggressive on social media pushing for more awareness and sales as well.

One thing so far I noticed:
  1. Dyno charts that they post - Dyno runs are used using 5th gear. Most dynojet places which offer car dyno normally uses 4th gear to do the dyno run. I can tell you for a fact that doing the dyno run on 5th gear will show you more power compared to the 4th gear. So if you want a comparison of say, betweem RaceChip and M-Tek, please make sure that both runs are done using the same dyno machine and also using the same gear.
  2. Price-wise it seems that they are cheaper than RaceChip?
  3. Piggyback - In all honesty, I have seen piggybacks from RaceChip, DTUK, Speedbuster and a few others, they all look exactly the same and the only difference is the software setting in each of them. Some brands offer additional tuning meaning you can change the settings on the go. Also best that if you are choosing whichever brand, choose the one where you get local support. For example, I know the F30 boys had earlier issues with their RaceChip and RaceChip Malaysia took the issue and managed to get it rectified by having their softwares updated.

Good to see Race Chip Malaysia giving proper after sales support which is very important in this case. I'm not sure about M-Tek so I'll wait to see how it is performing in our local F30 cars.
