After owning the F30 328i for about 5 months on, I just want to chip in on the positive side of things.I used to post that the wind noise is very audible at high speed and still probably is but I no longer notice the noise. The tyre used to be loud but also seems to be reduced now, perhaps worn in after 10k. Quite happy with the audio sound system actually especially the mid range where the vocal is especially timbrely. The front seats are just amazing, holding the torso straight. I swear they ease my backache just by seating in it. Love the creamy ride and the sweet power from the engine when driving along the North South highway stretch. Just got to watch out at the crest of the bridge where the car might bounce up in the air maybe due to the suspension and the speed when going in. Tried but hard to find any real fault with the car. The size of the car, the power of the engine, the practicality and the comfort seem to blend nicely in this car. Always look forward to the weekend to drive it. 9/10.Oh, can someone explain how I can get the wipers to sit up when washing the car. I don't understand what the manual is asking me to do.:dontknow:

yup, the drive is really sweet and pleasurable, bt i still cant get used to the wind noise, didnt notice any difference also..

for the wiper, u hv to switch off the ignition (press start stop button twice), then push the wiper stalk up for few seconds, done! the wiper will go to straight/vertical position, so that lifting up is possible =)

yes - power is addictive, but don't you just miss the sweet singing 6-potters of the earlier models?

agree, that the power is addictive but, I personally think bmw and a lot others german makes are now going the route of the japanese cars in the early 90's (or earlier) with turbo.
the power deliveries of the f30 is instantaneous unlike the other german make i have with its v6 engine. the dsg (or so) as well is very linear and swift without the gear change feel and the steering is a lot lighter. The feel is almost similar to the old Japanese turbo car but softer (without the turbo jerk) but way better. its like an advance version of the jap cars. The fuel efficiency is also a lot better than the v6 even with hard driving.

Being a bit old school, I miss the engine aesthetic of the 6 pot, the engine sound, the gear change feel but in the same time i am enjoying the swift response, the acceleration and the great fuel efficiency. I guess sooner or later all cars are going the small size engine (even f1 are going 1.6 turbo soon I heard) and will need to accept the fact that this is the direction all manufacturer are going (unless you have the dough to go V6/V8/v12)
