Whoa what a job.:top: The first time I heard anything like this. Normally painter won't paint the inside of the door. Unless we paid for bare chasis painting which will cost a bomb. Can't wait to see the result uncle. Hmm what about at the back of other panels, say the bumpers?

Bro - great. A real good paintshop would do this. You can see the quality difference when this is done. At George's they removed the bonnet, doors and trunk and spray seperately. Thus you can see all joints and lourves well balanced and looks like an out of factory paint job.

Well done! Can't wait to see the end product, especially when project managed by a restoring Sifu :top:

Bro - bumpers must be removed, all mouldings, chrome, side mirrors, car lights and if windscreen not removed, must be solidly taped. All these parts seperately painted. Then the undercarriage, exhaust etc are sprayed with special paint that gives it a fresh look, yet protects from wear and tear. Rims sanded, buffed and repainted. Wheel arches repainted. Engine bay repainted body colour, some opt for black. That's why a pro job does not cost 2 or 3k, but more. Be very careful that the rubber mouldings that should not be removed from the car are not. They should be taped, sealed and protected. They cannot be fixed back with glue etc, but requires replacement. Cost a bomb!

The real gila part and most technically challenging, is the sanding....this is the most leceh and the part where most damages take place. So most ordinary shops shy away from such a process. A car that has not been sanded and a car that has.....vast difference

Sorry Unker for tumpang...but this is what I learnt from my 3 weeks camp at George's :stupid:

hahaha... bro Ssmann has become an armchair auto painter liao.... George has taught you well... :D

Bro, when I can afford to, I wanna give this day job a kick up the wazzooo.....and start up a car painting come detailing/restoration business with an inbuilt pub, spa and dance pole.....all my passion roled up in one :top: Also some boutique rooms for those real car crazy fans, to camp the whole duration of the restoration project and have a blast......American Chopper styles!!!

Thoughts like these, get me into trouble :stupid: Ok back to reality now...

Serjit, you have learned a lot from George.

Yes, the bumpers, head lights, tail lights, door side protectors, side mirrors & all chromes are removed before painting.

Exterior painting is done this afternoon, Car is still sitting in the oven for drying. And yes, it does cost quite a bit, but I think it's well worth the money.

It will be interesting to see the finish product.

So how much did it cost you for the painting of the E38? Around 6k? or more?

No la bro...George's pricing very reasonable one in comparison to many of the notable pro painters

My good luck, found & bought the 5th piece of 18" Styling 32 rim for my spare tyre. Thanks to Bro Yazmeen, the face lift Xenon headlights remote height adjustment works now.

Just reading through...sorry to crash I'm an E34er but Vincent recommend me to this paint shop and I just got my car back 2 days ago.

Result? Every time I come back home I gotta go to the car and look at it for 5 minutes...makes my day a whole lot better. :)
Vincent, when do we go for the teh tarik bro??
