Hi Han Azman,

I will send it back to Naidu after CNY break. Let him have a look. He did agree to look at it and rectify the issue. What annoys me most is the hissing sound.......it really is annoying!!!!!

On the gearbox issue, I changed the ATF at Albert's, due to having needed to replace the flywheel oil seal. I need to check with Albert what fluid was used. This problem was also there before changing the fuel, so doubt thats the issue. Diagnose shows all good. I suspect its 2 things, a faulty gear change sensor or torque converter, cause it feels like a pressure problem. In my previous E200 Masterpiece, I experienced similar symptoms that was easily cured with manually adjusting the pressure of the gearbox...RM20 job and it worked fine. I am hoping can do the same for the E38......

AAM - a/c sensor change was RM170 incl labour, 2nd part and refill gas

I read somewhere that on ZF 5HP18 box, pressure plate can be manually adjusted...

Vincent, it look like mounten thing to repair, touch up and do for a 2nd hand "7". eventhough genaral condition look great.

Good luck bro!

Hi! Kenny, in general, buying a 2nd hand BMW of any model will require a further initial investment. A better kept car will require a lesser initial investment whereas a (lemon)neglected one, the initial investment could even cost the price of the 2nd hand car itself.

It true, and it recall me when my old school cab with me 6 years ago, rebuilt was double the ride price....

Keep in touch, whenever you visit JB .

Hi Kenny,

Not like that la bro. The car is in good condition. I am rather fussy and like to my ride to feel great. Obviously there will always be initial investment in any 2nd hand car la....cause when you send for inspection, mechanic will tell you to do all sort of things!!! But Albert has been great, he tells me what is urgent and what can wait. Also what should be repaired, and what I can just live with and save my money instead of spending it.

Cheers - S

Hey! Kenny, thanks for the invite. You have a very nice E30 cab.

Last week AC compressor stop pumping cold air. Replace one from Japan half cut E39. Looks & works like brand new. Cost RM600. Replace the receiver drier & labour including R134a another RM270. Total damage RM870.00

Aisay bro, I got xtra aircond compressor fully reconditioned from my car. Selling for RM500 only

In this hot climate that we are experiencing right now, I can't wait to have the system repaired. Anyway, I am sending my original unit to be recondition to keep as spare.

Bro,

Sorry to hear that. The weather recently has been crazy and no surprise compressors and cooling coils are giving way. My blower motor needs replacing and was wondering if this can be procured half cut? Any idea how much and which model blower motors will fit an E38?

You can try sending it to Naidu and let him have a look. The last time my AC broke down in my prev E34 and he replaced it with a new Japanese branded unit. Only had to mod the brackets. He may be able to suggest an alternative unit for your E38.

Otherwise, lets go chop shop huntin!

Now at Albert's place. He is fixing the Besian Vanos repair kit. So far he has done for 5 members already.
