All Sifus,

I'm new to this forum and just bought a second hand E60 2004 Jpn spec. Could you please help to advice me where is the reliable place/workshop in Penang or Kedah that can do the CCC and SSS upgrade?

So, that means no point looking for the DVD navigation disc for our Japan spec E60? BTW, how much to change the CCC?

dude u mean u just upgrade the software n the entire module is now fried? how much it cost u to get tat upgrade done?

actually the exchange was only around 5*300= RM1500..I can't remember actual cost of shipping since its been a while..took 2 weeks via airmail..kautim the tax..cost a few hundred rinngit only..

Hi all sifu's,

I changed my Jap-spec CCC to local Msian one 2 years back at Obermaier. All well and good during that time and enjoyed the local radio, SatNav and DVD movies since then. However, last month, CCC suddenly kaput. It's now back with Freddy and he's trying to see if he can rescue it. Problem now is he needs to wait until a suitable local car comes in as he cannot try to reprogram the CCC in my Jap-spec car. Worse case, may need to buy another new CCC! :20:

For now, he has put back my old Jap-spec CCC. While I do miss the SatNav and MP3 CD player, I am rediscovering the joy of watching TV again (although just while stationary). But suffering from the old radio freq problem and the fact I don't have sound anymore for my DVD changer (old CCC no AUX function).

So just want to ask, any quick and cheap solution for me? Main thing is to get back radio functions so at least I have something different to listen to besides my CDs. If possible, would like to know if I can somehow connect my DVD changer audio output to an FM transmitter so I can get sound as well for that. TV on the move would also be nice. Not willing to spend too much as I will get back my local CCC eventually. But that could take months depending on my luck, in the meanwhile, looking for interim solutions.

Thanks!

P/S already have normal FM transmitter as cheapest solution to playlist diversity :)

I was in the same dilemma on the 'toys' i wanted to work o my jap spec as well and had read all the alternatives to the solution and was gonna do the multimedia interface + reverse camera on the OEM screen + DVD player UNTIL i came to realization that i dont really need them. I decided to just put in the normal reverse sensor (with the beep beep sound) or use a camera with a separate foldable screen which i will open only when reversing. It's nifty so i don't see 2 screens and it opens up with a push of a button.
As for DVD it's mainly for my 3 year old so i got a iPad mount for the passenger head unit (darn good looking) and downloaded her movies/songs in there for her to watch. On long journeys plug in her headphones and i can listen to my music while she watches her show and we are all happy ;) when she gets tired of watching her movies, she takes it down and plays with her apps.
All in i pay rm500 for the reverse camera thinghi and rm108 for the iPad mount instead of the rm3.5 to rm4k quoted to do the latter. ;)

Yupp guys, it is frustrating indeed for a highly rated car like BMW e60 with its superb look and great handling cant even settle the radio frequency issue, and so much for the idrive/gps stuff which cannot be used here !! BMW , or BMW Japan should do something about this..

Anyway, any guys who bought the ckd from auto bavaria can comment on their gps onboard function??

Cheers
