I think most of us know that a place like SIC don't come cheap...

You really need the full backing of several big corporate sponsorer in term of financial support before even embarking on such mega project.

Piedpiper have taken the trouble to call SIC for an indication of the pricing. She is just conveying the information as told to her...

Now that we have an indication of the price, it look like the chance of having an events is even harder to achieve. But I am sure there are some people who would like to take up the challenge and reliazed their dream...

Hey... if we can somehow rope in cars amounting to the hundreds, the price would seem like peanuts!

Well after almost a year in Europe, i'm back & i can indeed see a much better forum compared to the days where sex is the main subject.

Congrats to the new committee & i can feel the enthusiasm each of them has & also the members.

This would indeed be a great event & only a car club of such stature can pull this off. After the bmw club is a prestigious club & can only be put amongst those marques like Daimler chrysler, Porsche's or even ferraris. If mercedes or Porsche club can organise such closed events or even the Satria Gti club, than this is not an issue for BMW.

Kudos to the one with the idea. Long term planning indeed is needed.

Jarance
Glad that as a committee that you are taking up as a project & with the support of those enthusiastic members here, its will be not long till there are 100 BMW's park all along the front straight. Now isnt that a sight to behold!!

Great work people.!

I am sure the committee can contact and write in to big corporates like Castrol, Projet, Hewlett Packard, Total and etc to chip in. And if the committee decide to invite other car clubs which I think they should, then the other car clubs could also make contacts with other big companies in which they may have a good working relationship. Some of these car clubs are pretty active.... Volvo Club, ItaliaAuto, Porsche Club and etc. If each of them (big corporate companies)could spare us RM5k, then this could easily be a reality!! :D
Albundy, thank you for your sugguestion. It is indeed great and refreshing to see members who come up with positive idea and ways to orgainise such a mega events. I will certain bring your sugguestion to the attention of the protem commitees when we meet up again..

Once again, thank you for your sugguestion.... keep more coming.

No problem bro. I personally would like to see it happen. Not only its an opportunity for members to drive on sepang but also a great avenue to foster better relationships with other car clubs! One more thing, at the moment without ROS the club cannot receive any "sponsorships", so this should give the committee plenty of time to prepare and plan. :)

zombie, welcome back to the forum after your long absence..

Thank you for your compliments and encouragment... It not me alone but the protem committee who works as a team. We only hope that we can live up to the expectaion. The previous protem commitee have set a very high standard. Please excuse us if we cannot perform as well as them. But I think with the leadership and guidance of Daredevil at the helms, we will. :eek:k:

The ROS is always a stumbling block.. As an ex-committee, I am sure you understand the frustation.

I heard from DD that the approval of the ROS is gonna to happen any day now.. Let keep our fingers and toes crosses.... Pity, it did not happen when you was the protem committee. It would been a feather to the head for the hard work that have been carried by the previous committee.. :eek:k:

Yeah ROS approval could happen anytime and it would open the doors to many opportunities to move things further. Doesnt matter who gets the credit, at the end of the day its the club members who are going to benefit. :)

So many ideas have been suggested, and none of them bad, but why not keep things simple?

My suggestion: Why not start with a simple gathering(i.e: BBQ, picnic, high tea, etc). The new protem commitee could reach out to fellow members and share their manifesto for their term in office? Members would like the chance, IMHO, to meet the new office bearers and get to know them better.

HOW? HOW? HOW? HOW? HOW? HOW? HOW? HOW? HOW?
