Ideas for BMW Club Malaysia Forum Improvement

Great topic discussed here. Plenty of pros and cons brought on by OM and CG. The objective of this club is to bring together BMW owners from all over Malaysia to share their experiences owning The Ultimate Driving Machine be it old or newly bought. This club will never exist without members and members contribution is the utmost importance for the clubs well being and continuous existance. Merchandising is one of the avenues for the club to gain profit in order to provide special privileges for the OMs for the Clubs events and such but in order to do so certain guidelines should/must be abided by in order to retain the Exclusivity of the Paying members aka OMs.

Exclusivity means special privileges, but in order for the Club to provide those privileges one must understand that its an uphill task for the Committee to approach vendors, Authorised Dealers or potential establishments for support when We cant provide them with the numbers. Yes, numbers make the difference...sadly but true.

on the topic of Official Tshirts...Im all for the reprints for the benefit of OMs prefering to have a 2nd set for spare or just for collection purposes....I would definately get another piece. But limit the production on a First come First basis to maintain Exclusivity....besides, before i owned a BMW, I would be buying BMW shirts/items or anything that has the BMW logo just to be associated with the Brand although I couldn't afford one then....in directly, it creates an awareness for the club on its existance.

Agreed with Jeff, exclusivity creates attention & attraction. Merchandising is the most power fool tool to create awareness.

On the note for the T-Shirts, my vote is only for OM's whom are renewing, but no vote to reprinting as then there is no more 'one-of-its-kind' exclusivity.

After all CM & club is doing a great job in promoting new merchandises and its our duty as members to support.

My predicament precisely...The Tshirt was mentioned as a renewal Tshirt...If you want to give/sell it to new OM's by all means...but since the design looks so exclusive and awesome...try to limit it to only OM's.....BMWCM strived on exclusivity throughout the years and there should be some difference when it comes to OM's and Club Guest...Please consider..I always believed in Quality over Quantity....

Organizing drives are fun. But what will advertise the club even better is to have a treasure hunt. With stickers at the side of the car with the number and the words "BMW CLUB MALAYSIA 2015 TREASURE HUNT" at the bottom of that sticker, the forum address.

The Treasure hunt can be opened to all OM and CG as long they drive a BMW. The team can comprise of their immediate family or friends. This indirectly also plants the future idea seed to their friends to get a BMW in future!

This treasure hunt can also be done to coincide with a major drive event such as the coming Krabi Drive. Just my thoughts!

We have done a Treasure Hunt before. Again, I stress that, suggestions brought forward to the Committee doesnt mean the Committee has to organise them. OMs can come forward and lead the said event and even elect sub committee from the Members to help. The committee will just be there to oversee....cheers

Suggest the CM to welcome OMs to their mthly meetings. This will increase interaction & encourage volunteers to be involved in organising events.

Sound good but not practical. As they said, too many cooks spoil the soup.

Normally, if you have an idea, it is better to chat personally with the CM at the OTT or any official event.

Its not abt ideas. It's about engagement & recruiting of volunteers.. if the CMs wants more volunteers la..

BMWCM Card Tie Ups
1. Look at more non car related merchants. We all have gaya mutu keunggulan.... special discounts for watches, handphones, home theatre sets, exclusive dinning etc and also special upgrades for air tickets purchased from Malaysia Airlines or Air Asia.

2. Something for our kids such as special rates for entry into Sunway Lost World of Tambun, LEGOLAND etc. Will be worth the drive!

3. Special hotel rates locally and internationally . This should be easy enough to do. Register for a corporate rate under BMWCM.

What is the use of having a BMWCM Card if we cannot use it for other purpose? Expand the usage & the privileges ! Mention that new merchant updates will be posted on a special thread in the forum from time to time. Make it attractive for others to join and this shall indirectly increase volume in the forum.

ideas for bmwcm improvement :

1. why don't the committee do a road show thru out Malaysia . in the event club might increase the official members and also include trading of bmw merchandise item such as scanner , t shirt , cap , plate no or what ever that might expose the club to the bmw owner

2. why don't the club joint the jom heboh or any carnival that happen thru out Malaysia ...

Great ideas, however, the majority of the committee members are working full time.
With the help of members, many of these initiatives can happen. No need for the committee to start it.
In the early days of bmwcm, many members chipped in. They are all experts in their own field and you can really see the great work done together.

Agree Affan.... however it's up to the committee to decide which ideas are best to pick up and delegate the task at hand to OM and even club members.

For instance,the listing of BMWCM in certain hotels to get a corporate rate,all OM and CM have their usual hotels when they travel. They can be tasked to enquire with their respective hotel if BMWCM can apply for a corporate rate. If yes,get the hotel representative contact details for an OM to contact and furnish the necessary details and documents.

Probably by getting members to all install Tapatalk would be good.. Easiest to access d forum even wid some limitation but at least almost similar to whatsapp..

Bro heisenberg suggested :

Wats app group admin from several groups should remind users to post comments in the forum instead of using wats app as a platform.

Propose 1 day for as no wats app day for BMW chats.... all to be done on the forum. Lain personal wats app chat not applicable.

Suggest once a mth on Sat after official TT session. Defaulters to pay a rm10 penalty that will be collected and given to charity!
