Met you this morning at the workshop this mornnig. I too have incurred $$$ thousands for I believe and want to get my ride to a satisfactory and reliable level and/or condition. This morning I replaced the Cam sensor, thermostat and fuel filter plus update the DME software.....ride is now very responsive and smooth.

but I am not happy with current ferrari red color so now in the process of changing to somehow dark blue color;
n not happy with grey color on the 18" MTech rims so changed to ori silver color.
By next week most probably there will be a few other not happy things like;
1. Changing ATF oil
2. Changing engine oil
3. 4 new tyres .
4.
5.
Sifu guys, care to add on the list?
WGT523;477401 said:Hi, sorry to drop in like this. But what is this DME software and what exactly do this do. ? I own 523 and been wondering on how to improve the responsive = power.
Just service my car at M-Speed changing AFT, fuel filter, temp sensor, aircon resistor = RM1200.00.

4.Change coolant hoses(top & bottom)
5.Change thermostat
6.Change fan clutch
7.Change radiator cap
8.Flush,clean & hot tank or replace your radiator.
Sorry to make your list so long, but I cannot overemphasize on the importance of your cooling system running at tip top level.Overheating is the single biggest contributor to most BMW engine failure(I'm sure experienced BMW owners will agree with me on this).If a sensor fails, the car dies, just tow to the workshop,have the sensor replaced, and you'll be back on the road again.If the gearbox goes kaput,you can still drive it home(most E39 gearbox have a limp in mode where its stuck in 4th gear). But if your engine overheats, you'll be lucky to walk away with just a blown head gasket.

She's BMW 5 series, so for her performance, there's a price to pay. She performs so well that you always want to ride her long, long with speed, then at times you will just ride her long and slow. No matter how you ride her, you will always be satisfied because her performance always match your needs. The thing I admire most about our BMW E39, she looks soooooooooo good naturally, even without all the extra make-up (skirtings/bodykits), her pure natural look makes you want to stare at her longer...you won't ever have to worry waking up in the mornings and get the "urgh, why so...." and always look forward to finish work fast so you can ride her again and again and again and again......Not that I have driven many cars, but after having her, I'm very worried that I will not be able to find another that can give driving such a pleasure.

I am satisfy with my e39! What car else that u can compare with the price tag rm100K? Even it is more than 10 years car, but i still love it so much even compare with Camry and Accord.
Yes, we can not deny that wear and tear part is kinda high price, but...when u decide to own a 5 series, u are ready for that, right?
