Over the weekend my mechanic told me that my e39 exhaust needs to be replaced! The catalytic converter section sounds like a can with beans in it when rattled. This is my second exhaust system, the 1st one had similar problem and i had it replaced with a 2nd hand exhaust for RM1.8k. What are the options that i have?1. another 2nd hand exhaust (... & start saving for my 3rd set of exhaust)?2. have the current exhaust fixed (possible)? Any help/advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

best bet is to replace from a chopshop...normally the exhaust shop should be able to source and verify for u if the new part is ok

i got mine for around rm500 for the cat converter

RM500 sounds pretty decent. Can JFA Motorsport (Jaaffar) @ Bandar Sunway do the job?

why do ppl replace cat converters??
wow.

becos in some e39 the o2 sensor is at the cat converter, while some is before or after the cat. This you could throw it away.
