Hi guys,
Just got vectored today! Thanks Derek and thanks Docray for putting us in touch. Setting 4 is more than enough for me! Excellent power delivery. I might go up to 5. Maybe but I prefer playing safe!

Dear Seniors,

1. any problems with Performance Kit + Vector?
2. how to make the Performance Exhaust not sound so lame without major mods?

Thanks.

No just Vector. Price of PowerKit is way to high. Put Vector on setting 4, and more than enough for me to give an extra oomph.
Does anyone know by any chance what the power output would be on setting 4? Any estimates (I have the 177bhp engine)? I just don't want to be in excees on 420Nm to keep the gearbox safe and sound and avoid engine overheating.

On this subject, I have the 2009 320d without iDrive. Anyone know how to check oil temperature via onboard computer? Is this possible?

Srimusa,

Now you have Acceleration Power, do consider Stopping Power as well.

We all have limited funds and thinning wallets... Does the vector REALLY warrant new brakes?
If so, what do you recommend and what kind of budget are we talking about?

Vector + new tyres + G Guard = a little over RM9,000.
That's quite heavy in just a week. So, brakes really necessary or is the stock set-up safe enough to handle Vector setting 4?

Found this on our fellow FORD club owners page.. yeah this is how bad the water in diesel can really get.. especially if the stations do not maintain their tanks well..
Bottom darker color is the dirty water..

" It's water contamination of diesel fuel. It happens occasionally if fuel is from a station that is not well maintained. Not to worry, the engineers have anticipated the problem so fuel filter is designed to keep water at bottom, allowing only the lighter fuel to enter the fuel pump. When water reaches a certain level, it triggers a warning lamp. Look up your owner's manual for more info. "

So for those who have managed to enable certain features of the ELM thingy on your dash.. i suggest you checked the enable fuel in water sensor thingy. that should help out a bit..
