How are your 320d doing so far?

do it, bro. that's what i did when i got my car as well. i found fc's best around the 80-110 range. because the torque's so high, you get to accelerate pretty fast into the "zone" and from then on it's a cruuuuuiiiiiissseeeeee...

a toast to aunty mode:beer:

A large part of the enjoyment factor I'm experiencing comes from the fact I know that the engine is so frugal, but yet, when needed, the aggression can be tapped upon... like a well-trained special-ops soldier!

im so poisoned. anyone want to let go their 320d can pm me.

Nemesis, u r either one desperate dude or a serial spammer. :)

Go check out auto bavaria glenmarie. I believe they hv the best deals at the moment. Nov 2010 pre-owned with only 4k-7k mileage asking 215k nego.

If u check out BMW Malaysia premium selection website, they have a few dec2010 reg asking for 235k. I hazard a guess they must b from quill or ingress. So, it looks like the AB cars are the best value for now. Grab them before they run out.

How much is the retail price for a brand new one? I can't find the pricelist online.

For these versions being sold pre-owned without iDrive, the list price was 255k.
The 2011 models with iDrive is 260k

thx! its way out of budget then. hunting for used one. but glenmarie is too far away from where i am. will c how it goes..

I have another North/South run coming up tomorrow. Can't wait. Fuel consumption now is at 7.1L/100km and I plan to do the drive in aunty mode, respecting speed limits (to a point) and see how little fuel I consume for the trip up the PLUS...

Just hope the rain eases off....

Hi Guys,

Have read all the threads on the 320d and have also test driven it together with the 520d last weekend. Really really liked BOTH cars.

Can you guys update or advise your current mileage with your 320d and any issues with the engine (if you have any)?

Thanks.

2009 320d 33K km and no issues at all bro!!! Small issues-like rear lights turning indicator malfunction-both rear lights changed under warranty. This fault is common to all the new face-lifted E90 cars. My 2 cents- if you are still below 40 get the 320d, the 520d if above.

ha ha! Thanks for the advice. Will seriously consider it, especially the Nov 10 pre-reg cars!
I really like the 320d... my current ride is a E46 330i sedan. From the 15min. test drive, I sensed that the 320d N47T with 380nm could easily match my current car's ability on overtaking.
FYI, I travel to Australia often... I noticed they have a 2.0 twin turbo diesel churning out 150kw 400nm for the new (or revised) 1 series.
I am taking a wild guess that MAYBE that's the engine that will be in the new 320d coming possibly end of this year???
Anyone got further info on this?

I doubt it since it will markedly jack up the cost and knowing our tax structure here, will render it unfeasible. It looks like BMW is committed to Diesel tech with the launch of the new X3 with the same engine as the 320d - that should silent the critics of the BMW engines being unreliable with our 'dirty' diesel

I hazard a guess that the new 3 series 'd' model (slated for end next year) will probably be mated to the 8 speed gearbox as the X3 and 520d. If we are lucky, maybe we may get the 325d instead. That would have been absolutely delicious too

Get the 320d pre-reg now (nov2010, not march/may ones, since for the same price, u get the 135kW engine). It's gonna be a great drive. Google any auto reviews globally and you get nothing but praise for it.

completed my documentation and getting my car on saturday. watch out for another alpine white oil burner on your mirror.

Only thing is have not decided which diesel to pump as I read the threads, none is too conclusive but generally, it seems we cant go wrong with
1. BHP
2. Caltex
3. Petronas
(in that order?)

I heard they won't bring in the big/twin turbo diesel engines as of yet-those need Euro 4 or better.

TheNemesis;617927 said:
lol. then it will be outrageous if its euro4?

No bro...euro 4 doesn't add to the performance of the car, just cleaner emissions. Our friends tried the euro 4 diesel in s'pore.....Any luck with your 320d purchase? Contacted gameover?

Filled up on Thursday morning, drove up to Penang, did what I had to do, drove down to Ipoh for lunch yesterday and arrived back in KL at around 5pm. There's still 90km left in the tank after a round trip of around 850kms... stunning.... outrageous....
