I istalled the BMW navigation plus about six month ago.For me the seamless integration alone is worth the money. When not in use the cradle is beautifully covered on the dashboard and to mount the set is so easy as easy as when to unmount it.The good thing is that I can have the option not to use BMW preloaded map unlike the Idrive, now I use Malfree map.The integration with the car sound system is fantastic, has not given me any problem.I know I can get the Garmin set cheaper outside.Yes its true u pay extra to have it integrated to your car system but for me that is exactly the reason.I am one satisfy user,As long as u don't use Preloaded BMW map than u have no reason not to be satisfied.Bluetooth is working fine.U pay extra for integration unless u want to put up with all the messy things associated with stand alone Garmmin set on your dashboard then save you money.

How portable is this? Can it be easily removed and keep in the glove compartment or something?

A friend's Camry got broken into in Solaris recently just to steal his GPS unit.

I was in Ingress yesterday to replace my Rocker Cover Gasket. While waiting for the job to complete, I checked out the Portable GPS display unit. Picked Ingress Auto and it showed me the route... to a destination somewhere near the Lexus showroom opposite the LDP at Mutiara Damansara..

I checked with the Ingress parts department and ask the price. Was quoted RM2,500 include installation... and was told they have only 3 sets left!

My worries is the map updates... and the price very steep le. The OEM fittings looks good though with no exposed wires and Bluetooth interface that's wired to our OEM car audio system.

Since it is a Garmin Nuvi 2XX series, then you can use MFM which is free. The map updates and the features is a whole lot of discussion on its own.

The real issue is that you can get an equivalent Garmin Nuvi 2XX series for a little over RM1K. So to pay an additional RM1.5 K for the cradle and wiring harness which will give you "integration" with the car's stereo system is a little bit too much.

Garmins requires only one wire from the cigarette holder. I dont think it looks cluttered.

When I dont need it, I take the Nuvi, the cradle and the charging cable off and there's no trace of it.
