You have to relocate it down to the spec compartment. See below sample.

I drive an e46 330ci and I'm looking at upgrading the player to a double din. My dash is exactly like the one above. Those sifus who have experienced this upgrade or those with any info, you assistance would be much apprecated;

1) Is it necessary to purchase the double din 'it' (the bracket) (<<link: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/bmw-double-din-kit >>) ? If so, is it a universal size, (does LHD and RHD units differ)

2) Can you recommend an accessory shopy around kl/selangor that has got experience with this and may have the conversion kit readily available as well ?

3) Is it safe to move the aircon panels below ? Have you guys had any issues with this ?

My neighbourhood accesory shop claims to be able to do it and it will look as good as factory fitted. However, based on what I read online, the bracket is essential. Any one who has experienced thi, your comments is much appreciated!

No, it is not necessary to buy the double din kit. The player itself have the DD faceplate. it will fit nicely.

However, you may want to consider the bottom plate where the AC is relocated. I have done mine without the plate. Some minor gap is seen but hardly noticeable.

Most accesories shop can install it. need to figure out the connection for the CD changer at the rear to get to it work.

Sorry for bringing up the old post again.
Market now seems having lots of new Android player selection, anyone using it?
To me, one of my biggest concern about Android player is it's long boot up time (20-30s), anyway to overcome it?
