Bro IM, yup as far as i know it's the same thing. Valve body= mechatronic. My gearbox started to leak after change of ATF. I'm not sure whether it came from the ATF sump gasket or the 'sleeve' that you mentioned about. Anyway now back in KL will bring the car soon to mscope to get it rectify.
 
wow...after read all the problem im scare now...i just get my e90 last week..its 2007 model..
what should i do for the first time..i get 1 month warranty from the use car..???

FIRZ, the guy at Mscope said if the ovehauled mechatronics still giving problem they are willing to trade it in with a new unit and just top up the differences. Now its just whether you want to save about 1K plus for a service or top up to 6k for a brand new unit and peace of mind.

I think mine has also starting to show these symptoms...ohh noo..:afraid:

sometimes it jerks..sometimes it doesnt.. it happened especially when hard braking at high speed to a stand still. At first I'm not too sure what caused it but after reading this thread, i'm scared that its the gearbox problem...uhh..

but what can possibly caused it?..my ride clocked 100K of mileage yesterday..

heh.. 100k km, what's your ATF change history and ATF pan change history? If u have not done any, replace them first.

Astroboy, The story was...

I went to bmworld with the intention to change my ATF at 65k but the technician there told me that there's risk for the car to jerk permanently if I change my ATF and this was seconded by a customer I met there..he strongly suggest don't proceed with the oil replacement..

At 80k I went to AB glenmarie to change my engine oil.. I asked them about the ATF oil thing.. They also said the same thing about having the risk of engine jerking after changing oil. So I decided to let it be and follow their advice.

So until today I haven't done anything u had mentioned above..and now I'm kinda frustrated...urgh..

But today I got my car a new spark plugs..and to be honest, the car feel much more lighter and the engine was so much smoother..but it's only the first day and it could be just me..give it a week to judge.
 
my gearbox recently started the jerking problem similar to TS, any shops nearby cheras recommended?
 
ZF gearbox better than GM gearbox?
My e90 is manuf in 2008 and using GM gearbox, just do the ATF change last 2 week @ 80K KM
