During one of my regular interval service at Ingress, they have informed me that they have already changed my gearbox oil. I was informed by two of friends who also owns 2006 E90's that they are facing similiar gearbox problem. I wonder if i can get 10 people with same problem and head over to BMW :) . Anyways, i really need to get my problem fixed as i intend to sell the car ! Oh, out of topic , anyone wants to buy my OEM 162's rims & Ori M3 steering wheel ? :)

I'm interested in your 162's. PM me for details

i was quoted RM1350 for the 7 ltr ZF ATF + oil pan/filter at M-One JB. can be slightly cheaper if u buy the parts at Eng Soon, S'pore and get it changed in S'pore....should cost about S$450-500 all in.

I am still having this problem with gearbox "jerk", even after ATF change recently.:hmmmm2:. Maybe need to service the mechatronics next...

I also experienced this problem somewhere around 60k mileage. Countermeasure - rebuild mechatronic , change solenoids and reprogramming will solve the problem. Be careful not to change the mechatronic to recond unit since it will carry a different part no. Mismatch part no will create a problem during programming with ZF transmission software as it will not recognize the part no from different mechatronic.

FIRZ67 - Your gearbox still OK now? When did you do the mechatronics servicing?

Now OK. Got it serviced by Mscope in Batu Caves

How long ago did you service this? And how long did it take to overhaul the mechatronics?

I did the mechatronic service about a year ago. Changed all 7 solenoids and need to go through few programming session and adaption value reset to fine tuning it. The mechatronic service at Mscope only took them one day job to complete.

In addition to that please make sure your ECU firmware updated to match the latest GB firmware when they do programming.

Hi guys, is E90 GB that problematic, but come to think about it, it's about time for the GB of this model showing problem.

Just to kills my curiousity and I am trying to find the linkage with driving style or is it a design default... Do you mind to share with me below?
1. Did you change your ATF so far?(like every 40k-50k km?)
2. How do you drive your E90, always kick down stuff or smooth acceleration?
3. Do you change your rear differential oil?

Thanks.

Wah! Mr. VP, u so passionate ka? KL TT also need your help to drive down all the way from Kuantan to host meh? KL chapter no capable member meh? :4:

On all ZF gearbox issue, trust no other than Mscope. The beauty about ZF box is every component is replaceable [not possible in LCI GM box], and MScope has the knowledge to tell you exactly what you can save/salvage and what you need to change to solve the problem. You can even insist on 5 years warranty but they can insist what part you MUST change for the box to last 5 years la..

Bro nizan,

Some said that the software update can resolve the jerk issues. Give it a try :)

Thanks, maybe I will give it a try tomorrow at MScope since I am starting my Raya leave already.....ehehe

Went to Mscope, the guy tried to re-program however not successful. Need to come back to overhaul the mechatronics after raya, that if I get enuff duit raya. He quoted me around 4k plus.

I had my mechatronic serviced by Mscope at 4.5 k. That is excluded the ATF change. I had my ATF change a month later and reprogrammed it. But Nizan, given second thought, check the new mechatronic module new price. If it is somewhere around 6K, i would opt for a new one rather than rebuild.
