Dear Sir,Re: Complaints on BMW dealership Auto Bavaria Glenmarie BranchI purchased a unit of BMW520i from the above-mentioned branch on 20th April 2012, bearing the registration number of XXX XXX from sales personnel Jimmy Chong. After taken delivery of the car, I am plagued by series of technical malfunctions that remain unresolved to this date despite various trips to the service center of Auto Bavaria Glenmarie Branch. Hereby I wish to emphasize on the incompetency and irresponsibility exhibited by the said service center, and that I am vastly disappointed and immensely outraged that such level of disgraced unprofessionalism happened within BMW Malaysia, an international brand name that should carry at least some minimal form of promised and ingrained professionalism. Below please find the sequences of events:Date: 28th April 2012The following were the complaints:1. Computer system prompted engine oil service due even when the car mileage was below 1,000km;2. Under-dash air conditioner blowing out hot air; and3. Noise emitted when wipers were being used.Remark: I sent the car to the workshop on the same day. Complaint 1 and 3 were resolved. Complaint 2 remained unresolved and I was informed by Zahid, the Service Manager, who insisted that the temperature of the under dash air conditioning was similar to the dashboard air-conditioning. I did not agree with his explanation, but was left with no choice but to take his words. Date: 28th May 2012The following were the complaints:1. The car jerked, and still does, when slowing down; 2. Auto start/stop features did not function properly; and3. The under dash air conditioning blowing out hot air (old issue)En Zahid, Service Manager, assigned a technician named Chandran (if I remember correctly) to test my car. He acknowledged that all my complaints were valid, which included the air conditioning malfunction that was previously rebutted by the service manager En. Zahid. On the same day, I was assigned to Desmond, Service Advisor, to handle my complaints. I might add that the attitude of Desmond was seriously lacking of those expected from a Service Advisor. Amid ill-mannerism and plain rudeness that was also witnessed by Jimmy Chong the sales personnel, Desmond stated, without checking with the workshop personnel, that they would need more than 1 week to fix the problems. When I suggested that he should re-confirm with the workshop personnel, he then promised he would call me at a later time to confirm the time needed after the workshop had run diagnostics. Date: 31st May 2012After three days of waiting without any phone call or notification from Desmond, I called him on late 31st May 2012 morning but was unable to contact him. I then called Zahid, whereby he promised me he would call me back on updates of the status of the car. When again there was no call from any one from Auto Bavaria Glenmarie, I called Zahid 30 minutes later, whereby he told me the car was ready for picked up. I picked up the car from Desmond at around 3.00pm with him telling me all malfunctions were resolved. He then apologized to me with regards to his attitude on 28th April 2012, citing that he was not feeling well. Frankly speaking, at this stage I couldn’t care less at the substandard services rendered, so long as they fixed the car. To my great dismay I realized by the next day that after great amount of hassles, time wasted and bad attitudes, the list of malfunctions was UNRESOLVED, not even a single one of them.Date: 2nd June 2012I went to Auto Bavaria Glenmarie to approach Jimmy Chong and complain about the persisting technical malfunctions of my car. He test drove it and agreed that the problems remained. He advised me to talk to Zahid again. Date: 4th June 2012Without better solution, I called Zahid on 4th June 2012 and made an appointment to see him on 6th June 2012.Date: 6th June 2012 En Zahid assigned a Malay technician to test drive my car. The technician acknowledged that all of my complaints were valid. En Zahid told me it might take some time to fix my car and agreed to arrange a courtesy car. He then promised to call me once the courtesy car was arranged and the date I could send in the car for repairing. As per modus operandi of Auto Bavaria Glenmarie, no one called me to make any further arrangement.Date : 13th June 2012I called up En Zahid’s cell phone. Not only he did not pick up my call, he REJECTED/OFF PHONE in mid call. Immensely incensed I called Jimmy Chong’s cell, which he then passed the phone to Zahid. Zahid then apologized and promised to call me back on 22nd June 2012. To date, there IS STILL NO PHONE CALL FROM AUTO BAVARIA RE MY CAR.For your information, I owned a Mercedes Benz. I had never experienced such bad service from Mercedes Benz’s service dealers. I am vastly disappointed that no one can offer me a satisfactory answer re the problems of my car, on whether they are manufacturing defects, or that they are just the results of the incompetency and irresponsibility of the service dealer.I hope I can get a positive respond from BMW Malaysia as soon as possible.Thanks.

Ermmmm...u post your complain here to inform others on the SC issue or to get a response to your problem or to get BMW Malaysia to response to you here?

by the way, please introduce yourself at the newbie section first....

Hi Furiousowner,

Autobavaria's lack of customer service and lack of care for its clients are legendary. I suggest you post it on BMW Malaysia's facebook site for better attention to your problem.

http://www.facebook.com/BMW.Malaysia

Coincidentally, the latest comment on their wall is a complaint about AB Pulau Pinang lack of service! Shows you how legendary they are.

P.S. Do introduce yourself in the newbie section

Fast man ... come in and enjoy the Brotherhood Of Frustration. This is a very special group that you are now a privileged member of. Yes, BMW is basically full of BS. Glenmarie is also legendary. My car still got small issues outstanding (comfort access is cr@p and so is the remote) and the way AB Glenmarie handles things its called LOW CLASS, INCOMPETENT and more. Some SAs there are only happy to take your money then tell you that they have NEVER experienced such problems you are facing, after all the thousands of cars they have sold, you are the FIRST they encountered.

Only way to get BMW to move their ass is not to complain. Go straight to court ... maybe the Consumer Claims Tribunal. Of course if your car is under financing go see BMW Credit if you took it from them. Screw a bit then some butts will move. I did that.

Anyways, enjoy your amazing car that will give you a few months of heartache before its finally resolved to your satisfaction. BMW ... the Ultimate Disaster Machine.

Hi Furiousowner, looks like the "legend" continues. Truth be freaking told ok, a lot of the more "experienced" BMW customers just don't expect anything else but crappy service from AB. At one time, they had a monopoly, their attitude stank to the high heavens. Even now, this appears to remain unchanged. A lot of us are recurring BMW customers but we have since moved on in droves to other dealerships like Ingress, Quill, Wearnes etc. We read your post and shake our head, heard it so many times before, and a lot us, have experienced the same load of fecal matter. See if Ingress (and I hear Wearnes is pretty good now) can help, and if so, reward them next time with your purchase. I know I did with both F10 and F30. Understand this, AB's sales can sweet talk you into buying a car but are hopeless in terms of helping you deal with aftersales. In the smaller dealerships, at least the 'boss' is less far removed and sales and aftersales personnel more cordial with each other. My personal experience? Because of Ingress' good service, I'm a happy BMW owner. The last time they provided me a courtesy car, it was even one range higher!

I like the service at Ingress ... nice people there ... very nice. The SAs, the techies ... all nice people.

I'm not surprised if this thread is started by one of AB's competitor to defame AB. So many dealers now yet the size of the cake remain small. Can AB sue this forum for defamation ka?

Astro ... wow ... truly amazing. So now there is a conspiracy too perhaps since so many have stated problems with AB? So AB is truly amazing and someone wants to run down AB's business? Wake up la ... let's speak up when its the truth. Is this story new? Is this not the same type of problems faced by BMW owners at AB? OP has stated times and dates with names, you think its possibly some competitor with nothing to do? Are there so many new buyers from this forum alone?

With due respect to the OP...

One reason why this forum needs to be looked at in many perspectives and the need to be revamped [for lack of a better word] in my opinion...

Some claim that the forum is the forum, the club is the club and the forum IS NOT the club and vice versa.

If this is so, why then does this forum have the BMWCLUB MALAYSIA THE OFFICIAL BMW OWNERS CLUB OF MALAYSIA and the club's official insignia as the forum banner!!!

Additionally, this forum has no official mention in the club's constitution. Yet with potential issues that you mention above which I have highlighted and those that the forum is currently facing with unscrupulous CGs [in the other 'hot' thread], 'foundational' terms needs to be acknowledged [and not side swiped], worked on and implemented.

I am sure our CMs are looking at this and collating what facts there is to collect, verify and document before their upcoming meeting. My sincere hope is that my votes will not go to waste in the last AGM...

Will AB want to sue the forum for defamation? Is it worth their time? Will another forumer want to sue the forum for defamation when another forumer makes an allegation of cheating? If one wants to be so safe, then best not to have forums. The whole notion of a forum will always open the forum owner to so called potential suits. That is a fact. So some policing is necessary but does one police to a point that it should be 100% safe and no one is allowed to make any allegations?

What is your credibility worth to you sir?

Don't be too sure what's worth to one person, in this case an organization.

As for time, an injunction may be just easily filed by the said organization to at least temporarily 'clamp' this forum!

Yeah best to be safe than sorry, just stop allowing any allegations to be posted. Ensure it's all snipped off. Then perhaps best also for forumers or members who post to sign an indemnity for the club too. At least can recover something which is better than nothing.

Heck, this thread ought to be shut now! I mean if the allegations are untrue AB may just commence legal action against the club! Again, is it not too late since publication has happened or maybe the court will deem the shutting down as a mitigating factor when damages is being assessed?

Legalities ... So complicated.

Actually, the both of you are correct.

However, there's something that you (and many others) might have missed. In the registration page when signing up for an account at the forum, there's THIS:

So i think we're pretty well covered. All posts are the responsibility of the poster.

AB does monitor the forum from time to time but prefers to deal with issues through the official channel (ie between them and the complainant).

I drive a BMW but I cannot afford to pay RM 300 and I want free food every time when I am hungry.

Funny how someone's complaint has resulted in this. :stupid:

not in every case. You sound similar to our Road Transports rationale; higher cc means u are richer can pay more road tax! smart huh.

Well ... we all have our own opinions on matters. To each their own I say. What is important is to see why a certain forum is set up. As everyone will know, a forum of such nature is for enthusiast to enjoy sharing their joy/knowledge/experience and for some to obtain information.

As it is, the forum rules state that its FREE but there are pre-conditions/rules for forumers to adhere to. For me personally, one should not say 'can afford a BMW but cannot afford to pay RM300'. The RM300 is for membership to a club and here this is the free forum, albeit is run by the club. So it does not make sense for such a statement to be made. We are not here to freeload, the above statement is clearly directed at freeloading. We come here seeking assistance, sharing information and also to tok kok.

Look at all the international forums ... it is free. You want traffic and not just a few guys posting. Traffic makes the forum alive, it keeps the vendors/sponsors happy.

Well, I would add that this legendary lackadaisical attitude has even gone to Porsche Malaysia which co-incidentally also under Sime Darby Group. My family just bought a Cayenne Turbo with high spec options thrown in and the attitude they shown are worse than this. It;s been nearly 7 months and yet the car has spent more time in their workshop than on the road., :stupid:

No shit???!! I thought Porsche is supposedly to give really terror good product and service? Okay la, I am cancelling my booking for the 911 now. ROFL!!!

All points noted bro ...... :top:

Basically different people have different ways of expressing their opinion. Some may sound nice and wants to sound humourous and some maybe harsh and crude. Perception, especially online will never be accurate.
Nevertheless, we (the CM) are always positive in thoughts that whatever opinions, feedbacks and suggestions are done for the betterment of the club.
A point to note though, our forum is not exactly Free as per se. As we are moving forward and hopefully be able to take the club to the next level, there will be cost incurred to maintain this forum and when that happens, benefits for OMs will definitly have to be different from non OMs.

Cheers.
