Dear sifu,Would like to know what is the normal fuel consumption of e39 523i 1999. So far, my clocking at 11.3L/km on city drive. But on high way from KL to Alor Setar and back, the new clocking at 9.9L/100km. On pump of RM119, highway - running 690km mileage. On city - running 560km mileage(for esso) and 500km mileage (for shell/petronas) I saw some of the forumers icon indicating of 9.1L/100km. Know is kind of hard to know due to driving style and how individual press on paddle, but what is the average normal? BTW : Happy New YEar to all :top:

yup...seems normal...city driving FC should be higher while highway driving lower...

Using ron95 .

Used V-power originally but since spent most of the time in city drive, kind of waste. Have tried all Ron 95 from PEtronas, Shell and Caltex, found that Esso give me the best mileage.

thank. Is a comfort. Thought mine is galloping the gallon.
Changed to K&N filter and also petrol filter. Next should be spark plug to determine if really provide the saving of fuel consumption as claimed. But so far, for K&N and petrol filter..... not really noticing any differences.

Im running on petronas ron 95...
my fuel consumption on a rm 80 petrol would take me 360-380kms (mix driving condition)
on the average of .22 cents/km
highway, with the same amount would take me from 400-420kms on the average of .20 cents/km.
before the introduction of ron 95, i was on ron 97. consumption was .22 cents (highway) .25 cents (mixed).
i'm running on a new fuel filter when i switch over to ron 95, thus, i'm not sure if the filter or the fuel thats giving the xtra mileage...
my ride 01' 525i

be thankful bro, i can only squeeze out maximum 8km/l from my 1995 accord

can any of the e39 528 sifu's share their consumption data...

is it okay to use RON 95...

Wah u guys using ron 95 for yr bimmers? Did try 95 for few tank for my 328/528. no power & FC sucks. another worry that engine lot of carbon deposit due to less efficient fuel combustion:listen: Both my car clock around 11.3L to 11.4L/km of mix driving of 30% highway & 70% city. Also frequent on sport mode & tiptronic whenever needed:rolleyes:

I run with RON 95, auto for 50% urban 50% city and FC is 0.21 cent per km.

my 520i 2003 also show 9.9 to 11.3L/100km base on 30% highway and 70% City. any chances to make it lower?

ps: i also change to K&N slot in airfilter.

my 528i after remap using BHP 97 ron running on high way to ipoh can make it 7.4 L/100km
city drive bout 11.4L/100km...
