Mine Win7 32bit confirm can works

it won't work on 64bit, suspect driver signing problem

If like that maybe mine also same as your's lor.. so i think $$$ only d solution lar..
But mine was Jpn Spec wor, how come your's AB Spec also no alarm ?

When you identify the car using BMW Scanner , all the options are listed on the 1st screen. See if it is there.

Are u talking about this 1st screen, if yes could u pls tell whether my car came with alarm or not. And what is Korea version and Japan version stand for ? Thanks in advance

2) EWS (1 error)
3) ZKE (3 errors)

Alex,
I think you can ignore those in shadow memory. Reset there other errors, I think there some sensors got set off. I will not do anything. Mine too have them off and on.

Alex, looks like you updated the DME and EGS software last year, where did you do it ? How Much.
Any difference after ?

Yup bro IanDaddy i will ignore the shadow memory errors cause i did sent my car to diagnose at my mech there but couldn't find any error.
You are right i did do the software update of my car last year. After update my car feel more light and the gear change more smooth. The damage for the software update was $350. If u want to update your software better u go to M-speed there only charge $200 - $250 base on the members posting here.

Hmm...first time I see the error code with both the exhaust temperature and oxygen sensor errors.

1) Oxygen sensor controller, bank 2, deviation too great, deviation rich, low fuel level signal, active durin...

2) Exhaust temperature before catalyst, bank 1, signal line, short circuit to negative

So if I only have no 2 above, without no 1 error does it mean that my o2 sensor kaput already? or is it something else?

Hi,

I manage to get the BMW Scanner to work on Win 7 64-bit. There are 2 ways to go about it

Option 1
Install VMWare Workstation, then create a Virtual Machine (VM) and install Windows XP, You will need to attached the USB Scanner to the VM for it to be detected.

Pro - easy to install, Con - you will need to get a license copy, unless ....

Option 2
Install XP Mode with Virtual PC on the Win 7 64-bit, you can download both from here
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

Once you have installed both, then you will need to run Windows XP Mode under Windows Virtual PC. This will start up a Win XP inside the Win 7, then just go ahead and install the BMW Scanner and attach the USB Scanner.

Pro - No additional license required and you don't need to install Win XP, its already there after installation of the XP Mode, Con - the files are a few hundred megs

Thank hky for the info. Just got a laptop with win 7 - 64 bits after my old laptop have died.

Will try both programs. I heard from my frien that there is another VM called Virtual Box.
It was done by Sun and now is taken over by Oracle.

btw, the FTDI USB download was for AMD64 cpu. no wonder it wont install the driver.
