Just had my 13 year old vanos seals replaced with the Beisan Systems Single Vanos Seals Replacement Kit.

What an awesome experience! No more slingshot like acceleration anymore. Bestest best fix ever!!!

Had the seals replaced at Naidu's place at Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya.
Gasket Seal: RM158
Vanos Gasket: RM43
Labour + Installation of Beisan Seals (4 to 5 hours job): RM250

Camshaft alignment was fine.

Just asked my mech on his charges=200 only, will do mine once I received the seal and feedback.

Naidu is more famous for his air-cond repair/diagnostic skills but he is pretty familiar with BMW engines as well.

If you're coming from Federal Highway (towards PJ) take the exit to Jalan Gasing at the KWSP building. Take a left there followed by another left before the Shell station. Then it's the first right. Naidu's shop is directly behind the Shell station.

His number is 019 211 0554.

Does Beisan have seals for a E60 525i Yr2004 ?

I believe your E60 is the M54 engine and if that is the case, yours is a double vanos. To confirm, go to www.realoem.com and type in your 7 digits VIN number.

His workshop is just behind the shell station next to the EPF building at Jalan Gasing. It's impossible not to be able to find his place.

As for his workmanship, I would say he's pretty darn good. Just don't be too quick to judge him based on his workshop setup. He's probably one of the very last few honest mechanics in town.

just collect my car today. the effect i can feel now is very stable idle. even my sister thought the engine is off :D But i think bcoz it is helped by changing the engine and gearbox bushing. On RPM reading, the needle is very stable the moment u turn the key on.

Power wise, the torque come earlier, by 2k RPM u can feel the car pulling u. but i want to ask, my throttlrl seems to have lag. when cruising around 80km/h, i release throttle the rpm will go down 1k RPM, then when i step, the RPM rev to 1.5k than only the car start to accelerate. is this a prob?

A useful website to gather information relating to Beisan vanos seals, the before and after replacement.
http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/vanos/

The vanos forum is also moderated by Rajaie, CEO of Beisan Systems. So you can ask him any questions relating to performance issues and etc.

Getting a group discount (labor charges) for seal replacement is quite difficult as the total work involved takes about 3 to 4 hours. Workshop must have the appropriate special tools and many workshop are NOT keen to just replace the vanos seals and charge you only for the labor charges. They rather do other higher value replacement parts. So far, workshops that fellow members had their vanos seals replaced are:-

1. Optimum at Kayu Ara
2. Naidu (air-con specialist) at under the tree, Jalan Gasing, PJ
3. WP Auto at Pandah Indah
4. Milan Motors, Sg Besi

As to the labor charges, it varies from workshop to workshop so it is better to call them and ask for a quotation.

Have not replaced my vanos seals yet. Waiting for my next oil change to do it. Btw, it is Milan Motors, not Milan Auto.
