I just wish some people would stop being a mindless consumer and start being a driver......

Difference : a driver feels the car, understand it, reacts to each of its whim and fancy.....a consumer? they just read brochures n is totally sold on what is being shoved down their throat......

Which one are you?

Chill man. People here are not mindless consumers like you suggest. They are sharing their experience in suspension through this thread with me and I appreciate their feedback as much as your suggestion of hanging out at TT to get the bum feel. I never thought of that and it's a brilliant suggestion. The problem with my location is that I am in Kedah a bit far North from you guys. Not wanting to rely on reading brochures only as you correctly pointed out, the next best thing is to gauge the experienced sifu here who share the same feeling about the suspension, identified the problem and have ventured bravely to upgrade first. It's an expensive exercise and therefore I want to do it right the first time and if someone got it right with the suspension, and somewhere in the north, and happy to give me a ride for a bum feel (that's a lot of criteria all together) I would be ecstatic! In my house we have also CX5, Santa Fe, W212 and all of them feel fairly stable at 160kmh and above and I can't say the same for my F30 even with the most powerful engine under that hood. It's a really confidence sapping car at undulating road especially at corners and I am planning to do something about it.

If you have some experience good or bad to contribute on the f30 suspension please continue to do so under this thread. There is no need to aim your comment on other forum members comment because you feel frustrated for their 'silly' opinion. I wish we could talk and share opinions in customary polite manner just like during face to face TT. I don't think I will be heading out to TT if someone in the group talks condescendingly. Enough ranting from me so I won't repeat again later otherwise this thread gonna start another words war. Anyway, let's start fresh again, hi Gendong, my name is Eter and I have a F30 with a bit soft suspension :)

Hi Eter, Gendong here....Nice to meet u...

I fully understand you what ur getting at and i sincerely wanna contribute. Hey its a community in here and what goes around comes around. And please don't take it wrongly, my comments are not on the thread that you have started. Neither it is towards you. It was a general question.I believe we have some f30 bros in here who was done wonderful things on their ride and preferred setup. Yes location wise ur a bit out of Klang Valley but hey, who knows one day out paths might cross rite?

Again, in a forum setting, each word or phrase or punctuation gives a different connotation between the writer and reader(s). I agree on your point about being condescending.

Apologies if my comment has taken a slight twist than expected.

I wish Koni will come out the FSD model for F30 ASAP.
This is the one I read a lot about on other forum for those like me who is looking for a bit of balance of luxe ride and handling.
Anyone already using them? Loves to get my bum to try out to confirm the ride before plonking the mulah.

well.. for F30. First thing first. Get the alignment right. the rear especially is not necessary right out of factory,

This is a popular topic. But the main thing that you need to understand in the end is that suspension upgrades are sort of permanent. And sports suspensions will give you reduced high speed floatiness, increased firmess and reduced roll (if you upgrade the sway bars too).

However, all these will be at a trade off of your comfy comfy feeling of the base suspension that you have now. I think the occasion of "your wife being thrown up into the air" may become worst with sport suspension upgrades. Bumps are felt more extereme if you drive at high speeds with sports suspensions.

I love my M Perf setup, but my passengers (nor my wife) dont.
Indeed drive performance or comfort can't have both

An used set of f30 adaptive should cost around rm6k...

I wish my car has the adaptive m sport suspension too. The stock suspension does not give me the confidence that I need at high speed and when while taking fast corners. I am waiting for my warranty to end end of this year before embarking on my suspension upgrade. Doing my research now.

If you are going for aftermarket suspensions, I would recommend Ohlins, currently saving up for a set of those. Was comparing them against the KW V3 but the main key difference after driving with both these suspension is that the Ohlin's dual tube does make a lot of difference especially when I tested both of them on track.

Have Ohlin came out with a solution for F30? The last I heard they are still doing the R&D. I am sure Ohlin is good but they don't come cheap. I wonder how much it's going to cost?

Yeah they are still developing it, I checked for the E90 a set of Road and Track coilovers is priced at RM8500 from the Ohlins distributor here in Malaysia. The price seems very close to a set of KW V3 hence why I started doing more research on it.

Otherwise then a cheaper alternative might be to go local such as Titan suspension (they have ready made ones) or you can go to RCS Suspension where they will put your car on a load test to get the weight distribution and load angles and they will create a set of suspension for your car.

You could get it cheaper in Singapore. A set of v3 for MK v GTI cost me around SGD2800 a few years back. As for Ohlin, do they provide tuning for their suspension if you purchase from them?

Tuning services? Should learn to tune it yourself man :)

I need to learn to do it myself so that once after a few laps around the track, can adjust the suspension there and then to get the feedback

I can do it by myself if it's just turning dials left or right without having to crawl under the car or having to lift the car up in a car lifter. By the way, I hate going to the workshop.

I found a 2 tonne hydraulic jack at ACE Hardware at Publika going for RM87. Useful indeed and sometimes it's nice to get our hands a little dirty. Otherwise get the KW DDC :)

Hahaha maybe you can tune for me. I am not too good with DIY.

Hello guys a bit off topics, but as I am getting my 328i M sport with the adaptive suspension very very soon.
Would like to ask for comment of sifus who own the m sport model with the adaptive suspension(AS), is the AS good enough to avoid the car sick of the back seat passengers on comfort mode and firm enough on the sport mode for spirited drive.
I guess what I want to ask is " is the AS a good enough equipment and not just a gimmicks to sound canggih only" Cheers guys
