So now you are running on ..

Titan Shocks and H n R Springs ?

How much did the whole setup cost you ..

Why not just get full coilovers rather than a mix and match setup ?

why coil overs?? why everyone thinks coil over are better?? the rear for 3 series do not have coil over anyways..

The way that the front shock are made nowadays are able to set the ride height without affecting preloads.

the total setup - 1200 for springs and 3300 for shocks. so total 4500.

bonus point-titan can be revalved and set to my liking anytime. can do that with any other brands.

What do you mean the rear for 3 series has no coilovers ?

I thought coilovers are just a full package of shocks + springs ?

Titan are adjustable, but whats the benefit over buying KW v3 which is also adjustable ? (They come with both shocks and springs)

Just want to understand more .

I am currently on H&R Sport Springs on stock shocks .

Can feel that the M Performance Suspension is much better, cept for the fact that it is not adjustable.

Currently M Performance is going for about 9k including installation.

Would a hybrid setup be better instead of getting the BMW stock parts ?

package here could mean a set of shocks+springs sold together, e.g. Bilstein B12. this ensures more compatible spring/shock combo as they are meant to work with one another, thus eliminating guesswork when purchased separately.

coilovers are springs coiled over shocks. not all cars can accommodate this set up due to configuration of original shocks and springs.

Sweet.

Thanks for the clarification.

So I guess from my point of view, I am talking about packages.

Would it be advisable to buy a packaged (shocks + springs) versus a hybrid solution such as Titan + h & R ?

as much as i love titan shocks.. their springs are rubbish!

Unfortunately, most spring makers are not shocks maker and shocks makers are never springs maker..

I know for sure HnR are fabulous springs.... suitable for our roads. therefore with that sorted .. i will choose a shocks that i can fine tune to match. If i can have bilsteins or BMW M-perf or ohlins or any other brands fine tuned this way as conveniently and convincingly by the proprietor themselves, i would say perfect. But unfortunately, only titans do that now and for the RM that i spend on it.. best bang for bucks that we can get in malaysia for now.

to answer omnitech question - would it be advisable to buy package..means both spring and shocks together?? my answer is that if you know what you are getting then sure.. the problem is i guess most people even in this forum do not know much about the basics of suspension. therefore, its always hearsay of what the salesman or mechanics. or even other members who may be driving and expect total different thing from ourselves.

If you know what you are looking for and have the RM to burn.. for me.. i will do ohlin anyday. if i have the after sales service available locally and i can drive back and say, " i want the compression to be reduced 20 newton, rebound to be increased and so on.." and be done in front of me.. isnt that what we should get? and unfortunately, only titan has that now. is it the best shocks in the world.. ? not in a hundred years.. but thats the best value i can think of for now.

Titan also have their own springs, so they could possibly do a matched package.

Get Ohlins la...enough said hehe...
Still lets u adjust the preset combo of compression n rebound with designated clicks...30 clicks each on front two wheels n 34 clicks on back two...So in theory imagine how many types of combination u can get, depending on your driving style

Actually there are other suspension specialists locally. hot bits is one, but have not heard much from them.

I did my E90 with RCS recently , posted here :
http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?56021-RCS-shocks-E90-325

a review done sometime back appeared in zerotohundred :
http://www.zerotohundred.com/newfor...cs-suspension-velocity-sensitive-dampers.html

When it was first done, I was so happy - sharp handling and comfort. yes, comfort! especially on rough patches, which i thought never possible.
However discovered an issue after a highway trip - bouncy on certain stretch which appear flat.

So took the car in and Nanda immediately point it could be the rear - pitching they say, (though i thought it was the front ).
So they increase the rear by 0.5bar which is significant. handling was much sharper and the rear pitching not so noticeable anymore.

I was previously on msport which was crappy. The car currently has so much grip I thought never possible and I can feel the four tyres working, hence knowing the limit much better. I'm on Michellin PS.
Nanda retained the rear springs which i thought still stiff and felt sharp on small speed bumps.
Might swap with H&R next time around when its due for service for experiment. The shocks are both nitrogen and hydraulics

There you go. When u can have professional back up for fine tuning.. Its really different experience than expensive shocks with no after sales fine tuning capabilities.

You can get us a discount group buy from titan? my previous car (honda dc5) was done from titan as well, i would say its a good bang for bucks. I sent my shock back twice before they tuned it to my liking and its FOC. Went from super hard to super soft and just about right.

Hi Alan, i am interested to know more of ur titan absorber plus H&R spring performance. before i joint u on saturday, may i know how much is tis 2 items all together plus the labour? many thanks....

am sure we can ask them about group buy..

titan and HnR setup costed me in total 4500 complete with install, alignment and fine tuning.

basically titan is a customized setup, give them an initial idea and they will give u version A. if you feel its too soft/hard, tell them to adjust accordingly. Until you r satisfied.

In my case, Richard/Wai Loong ( TITAN BOSS) had retuned few set up for me since i installed it about a year ++ ago. Currently still on trial/testing period since my last visit in fasting month. And it is free service by them.
