I have skim through this bouncy riding F30 in forums after my wife was thrown into the air while sleeping at the back seat. Coupled with that the car warranty is nearing the end I think it's about time to do something about it.

I believe either the spring is too soft or the absorber rate is too slow to track our undulating road. So the question is to change out the spring or the absorber, or both? I think my F30 328i would be awesome if I benchmark the suspension setup to my Mazda CX-5 on a 19". I know it's an SUV but it balance the ride comfort and handling beautifully for my liking.

Ps: I heard of Titan and Koni but will they do the job? I would like to get it right the first time and not mess it up.

Bro, just a thought.

Instead of taking the jump straight, why dont u join the f30 guys for TT, to get real feedback on the changes they have made, and best of all, can try their rides (if some has changed their suspension). Each butt sensor is very much different and what may be ok for some, might be bad for others. At least ur decisions(s) would be based on 'experience' rather that "oh this guys said this....this forum said that.....that manufacturer claimed this"

it might help i guess......PM bro _M_ for the f30 Rusted Jackets meet ups.

all the best!!

Some swapped their stock units with a Bilstein suspension and Eibach springs, some want the warranty so they go with the M Performance suspension and some who are a little more hard core would go for a full set of coilovers. Personally based on what you want, go for the Bilstein+Eibach setup, seems to be the more cost efficient method among the 3 unless you opt for a set of Titan coilovers.

This is a popular topic. But the main thing that you need to understand in the end is that suspension upgrades are sort of permanent. And sports suspensions will give you reduced high speed floatiness, increased firmess and reduced roll (if you upgrade the sway bars too).

However, all these will be at a trade off of your comfy comfy feeling of the base suspension that you have now. I think the occasion of "your wife being thrown up into the air" may become worst with sport suspension upgrades. Bumps are felt more extereme if you drive at high speeds with sports suspensions.

I love my M Perf setup, but my passengers (nor my wife) dont.

Yeah my passengers at the rear hates the crashy feeling of the M-sports suspension and I think that it is way too soft hahaha

Comfort for rear passengers? then ur driving the wrong German....
Wrong! All you need is the adaptive M-Sport suspension (standard in all 328i M-Sport models)! Comfort (soft) for the wife and Sport+ (firm) for you!

Adaptive would be the most ideal. I was lead to believe 328i has adaptive when I bought but clearly not.
I believe even the M-Sport nowadays doesn't have adaptive but I would imagine the slightly stiffer M-Sport suspension reflects better a BMW.

F30 328i M Sport in Malaysia comes with adaptive sussy ever since it was launched last year.

Wish it was introduced earlier...

I wish my car has the adaptive m sport suspension too. The stock suspension does not give me the confidence that I need at high speed and when while taking fast corners. I am waiting for my warranty to end end of this year before embarking on my suspension upgrade. Doing my research now.

Do consider KW coilovers. My only regret is not going for it earlier than I did :shakehands:
Which version of KW? V1,2,3 or street comfort or clubsport?

I came from sitting and driving with Coil overs. Sitting in your rear feels equal or worst than coil overs hehe. Even type r was not as rough kikiki

I driven a f10 with v3. The settings set on that car was beautiful. Poised controlled but without the teeth jagger you normally get with sports suspension.

Ah V3. I had one on my German hot hatch couple of years ago. The problem with v3 is there's so many adjustments that you can do on it that you ended up visiting the workshop and changing the settings all the time just to find the best setup. That's a painful process.
