OMG...I am actually considering the 528 but having second thoughts now.

Whatever you do, try to avoid the first batch... Even better if you can wait for the LCI.

My friend got his 528i a month back-no probems; so far so good. He absolutely loves it-esp the HUD and the kids love the sunroof! You owe it to yourself to get one before you depart from the face of this earth. Drives like a dream.

Have been busy lately.
Yes, the problem is still not resolved. Delay upon delay. Very tired already la.

Hi,

Hope to get some feedback here on a problem I have.

I am driving a F10 523i with about 500kms on the odo. Everything works fine except during downshifting, the drag from engine brake is not smooth and very abrupt starting from the 25km/h mark. I don't think this is the same "jerking" problem found on many forums, and I am hoping this is due to the new car running in.

Does anyone have this problem and if so, does it go away after some mileage or it requires a fix?

Thanks!

It will improve if u set the mode to comfort.

sad to read all this news.
to be honest, i can't afford F10. with all the bugs still there, safer to buy pre-regs with some mileage. at least its tested and
with discounts.

Collected my 523i before the holidays and have been enjoying the ride for over a week now.

Experienced the suspension bang once as I was leaving KLIA and approaching the first toll gate (a ridge across all lanes about 500m from the toll plaza). Came from the rear wheels during rebound/when the suspension was extended. Have probably used this road hundreds of times before but never noticed that ridge in any other car. Annoying. :62:

Everything else works perfectly, although the downshifting when braking/coasting to a stop as mentoned by utopia seems a lot more aggressive compared to the E90s I've driven before. It improves by not lifting off the throttle completely but having a slight trailing throttle until you apply the brakes. A matter of getting used to.

To the F10 owners here, where did you guys buy your floor mats? I desperately need a good set - the carpets are getting soiled fast!

Sorry to hear that...exactly that was the area where I first detected km A2.9 just before the KLIA toll. Not only annoying but also can get may parents sudden heart attack...

On other note...I left my F10 for 5 days and found out that I need to reset the radio frequency...all the stored radio station vanished...any other F10 owners experience the same?

Silverado, regarding the floor mats I got mine at a shop near Puchong can't remember the name but near to address 8 Jalan Kenari 10 Bandar Puchong Jaya. The mats are of extremely good quality and come with lifetime warranty. Cost RM650 only available in black only

Bro Silverado, my F10 got the same prob like what your mention in your post.
The quality of the floor mats very bad and get soiled fast :(

The shop is Ozlee Tint Specialists 1 Jalan Kenari 8 Bandar Puchong Jaya. The material is Yuma coil mat. Warranty 2 years not lifetime, sorry

Yes, Ben10. Well I shouldn't worry so much about soiling the carpets as they should wash/vacumm out pretty easily. What concerns me more are my middle rear seat passengers accidentally kicking the rear HVAC controls when getting in and out of the car. Keeping my fingers crossed the knobs don't fall off anytime soon. Wonder why they designed it to protrude so much into the rear compartment.

Thanks for the tip, Adri13! Will check it out soon. Saw on some websites rubber mats which fit nicely in the footwell for USD60+. May consider ordering those online too.

As for the suspension bang, my SA is expecting the technicians to begin calling affected customers in Mar.

Did you switch to the other key fob? Whatever settings you set while using one fob are not passed to the other fob. This is so that you can conveniently have driver 1 and driver 2 settings.

That's another F10 bug then! :1:

Is your locking system Comfort Access? If not, the spare fob should be used to keep it charged up and usable.

I don't quite get you on the comfort access...I will use the spare one tomorrow and see what happens. Unlike previous E60 this F10 doesn't have slot to charge the fob. Use battery. One thing I observe about the blooth setting as I have to reset / reconfigure my BB and telephone blooth after engine switch off. Weird...I will reconfirm using spare fob tomorrow and it still persists then another bug

Bro, you should determine what locking system you've got. Comfort Access = replaceable battery. Normal Access = rechargeable battery...meaning you have to use the fob or it goes dead.

All your settings should be retained with the fob that you used to do the settings. My bluetooth still retains my Nokia and BB pairings, although I haven't used those phones since I switched to iPhones more than a year ago.

Comfort access it is...will check once again tomorrow when starting the car as I have configured this evening. Still the same fob. Thanks again.

The pairing seemed intact no problem so far and so did the radio station stored. So, I retract the bug issue for now.

Does the F10 inherit?

1. Noisy interior sound ie door, dashboard from E60
2. Engine vibrating on cold start
3. White smoke belching out from the exhaust
4. Poor radio frequency reception
5. Car pulling to the left

1. Yes, I had dash noise, in particular the a/c vents, which have been changed after 5 visits. What a bother, it is still rattling over uneven roads! Too many micro plastic components in the F10 a/c vents.
2. Yes, vibrating very vigourously on cold start. Noticed that new 3 series also has that problem - didn't have that with my previous older 3 series (e46).
3. White smoke, I thought it was just water vapour. OK, maybe not.
4. No problems with radio reception, fortunately (unlike previous e46).
5. I think our alignment pre-tuned in Germany (only assembled here), and tyres are German tyres made for German roads. A tyre expert friend told me that German tyres are made for left-hand drive roads, where driving is on right lane instead of left. Right lane is slanted towards right to drain off rain water, and therefore tyres and alignment are tuned slightly left-inclined to compensate. With our roads, we usually drive on left-inclined roads, and with left-inclined alignment and left-inclined tyres, that's triple left-inclined, multiplied effect! So, that may explain? Is that also the reason that our local computers cannot tune alignment properly? Any tyre expert out there?
