Jerman..
Y dont u try the "Spring Booster" la? & let us know the result..
Too good to be true right?

I had try both the products..

My experience is go for remapping..... Cause it give faster responses, hassle free problems. Just like factory tune.

Piggy back give me problemsssssssssssss

Sprint booster is a good stuff , i had them for more than 1 year in my ride liao.... Cant drive without them .

sprint booster basically just magnify the throttle signal... ie normal when u press 1cm, u get 10% throttle, with the sprint booster on you will get more than 10% depending on the 'type' of booster installed (mild, aggressive)..

I'll go for remapping to if it's for the OBD2 engine. piggyback works better for OBD1 ECU but not really for the OBD2 counterpart.

I agree that. Plus ECU remap disable speed limiter and increase rev limit, piggy-back don't.

since we are in this subject. For ECU re-mapping, would it be better to do it AFTER I have done all the mods for the car? i.e. leave it as the last last last mod?

yes best to leave it as the very last mod, so that when they remap it will take into account all the previous mods you put in.

hi mates,
like i said 2 jerman on the last TT,sprint booster in the cheapest way 2enjoy a bitmore off sprint, fabian u on the point righto.
But,this is what i experienced after a year using it. after a while the ECU gets smarter,it studies our driving patten and u then feel the sprint power drop by say 10%only from the time u fixedit'. but, i found a solution 2 this: simply, remove ur battery cable for 24hours,fix it back waaahlaaah, mate, back 2 money well spent.
u see on my e39[525] it smalltime kickass,4 that price.

added the sprint booster and had the ecu remap too. agree that sp will have no hp gain whatsoever but u'll feel a more aggressive push with the sp as against a remap. in fact my first day with the sp almost cause me an accident as i wasnt use to the multiplier effect yet.

with the remap, u’ll feel a smoother drive at 1st. dont know why, but mine sort of after a month plus only did the car feel more pushy. maybe the ecu was still learning. if u like stepping deep, then i guess u can always do without the sp.

if u do a remap, where do u get the remapping from?

what is the remapping based on?

and how does the remapping take into account all the mods that have been done to the car?

Anyone got any experience to share between these two technics?
Pros & Cons ie ECU re-mapping vs Piggyback Chip.

There are a few sites and each claims their superiority!

Any real life experience to share?

Thanks

Jerman,

I think both are equally good. There are not many problems with the product. But, if you really want to do it make sure you find a knowlegeable installer. This will determine whether you are going to end up a happy man or otherwise after the installation. Some installer claim they know their stuff but actually they know only a little. In Klang Valley as far as I know only one installer is reliable, that is the one who can manage high performance sport cars.

funfer,
Care to reveal the name of your High Performance Sports Cars installer?

p/s; you should seriously consider the sprint booster, bet you will not regret it! Still stock standard but with added booster on the tap!

As for now, from every nuts and bolts to sport rims on my car are all stock standard. Frankly, my car has adequate power. If I try to increase the horsepower for my E39 the next thing that I will ask for is the 6th gear, probably 7th gear as well. That is like asking for miracle. So, I better don't start. I'll PM you the name of the installer when I got the info. Stay tuned.

Brother Jerman, the best thing for you is to sell your current ride and get a 530i.:)

wah lau, the sifu has spoken........Albundy, tak cukup $$$, leh!

I think you can la.....better still get the last batch of 530i that comes with all the goodies. To me, its one the best cars around, comfort, handling and power.

There is not much power to extract from your existing ride, and the returns arent that good in terms of hp/ringgit spent :)
