non rft tyre rite? So means that the best solution get spare tyre. am I rite?

I went to Auto Bavaria Penang and the SA flip through the spare parts menu (on a computer) and show me two thing, one is just spare tyre without jack and tools (RM1400), the other option is the one you show here, with Jack, tools, straps, cover. RM2,000. Try to order from AB if you can.

Thinking of this as well cuz a mobility kit just doesn't give me peace of mind especially when driving to rural areas or balik kampung.

Hi shlim8, is this mean you have to remove the tire at the road side to do the repair work?

I think this is how the tire shop repair tire as well. no different. I'm not sure what do you mean by a proper repair later again at tire shop.

There is another solution - I carry a tire repair kit - the type with the sticky threads and 2 sharp tools - one to grind the puncture hole slightly and the other to thread the repair threads into the hole.... Just like the cheaper version of how tyre shops repair punctures.... And an air pump...

That way you can temporarily repair the puncture and add air on the spot.... ANd get to a tyre shop to do a proper repair patch from inside the tyre.

Messy and harder work but it works... I had to use it more than once to do temp repair.

Of course that still doesn't help with sidewall punctures...

Care to share with us the history of this Michelin tyre? Age? Puntured/patch before? Hit pot hole before?

If it's less than 1 year old, can sue Michelin la. Imaging if going at 230kph and this happen! before the blow up, you should notice pregnancy on the tyre wall signifying the failing of the steel rib on the wall. The steel rib normally is damaged by under inflated usage, driven when flat or hit pot holes.

Many steel belts to keep the side wall in shape..

An example of bulge or carcass failure:

E46 spare tire is 15" correct? Can it fit into E90 17" configuration? I guess this is temporary wheel and 2" difference must not be a problem. Anyway, lets say you have a punctual and change to a space saver spare, will the "Run Flat" warning keep beeping all the way before you change to the normal tire?

Correct. Yes. just reset the RFT indicator.
