Go take a test drive, then u know.. :4:

real torquey!
fantastic mileage!

though I get comments like "where's the bus/lorry?" - when you start the engine.
also feel the suspension is too stiff for my liking.

U hv to take aggressive corners and go beyond the forbidden 200 speed barrier to appreciate the suspension.. it's like riding on rails!

Anything less, is just another comfort saloon..

Astroboy..i'm still waiting to have my money, i hope got this year but before that can tell me what different than 320i or consumption of petrol?

Can write a book on the difference la.. consumption wise, 400~500 vs 700~900km per tank.. power, torque, handling, accessories, handling, body kit.. all different! Big time!

320d is a good buy. You can ask docrayboy for the full review. He's passionately driving one now.

Just got back from Camerons. Was eager to make this trip as I wanted to test the diesel torque while going up hill. Used the Simpang Pulai road and was in D during the initial run. Torque was sufficient even in D mode. Once I shifted to DS mode everything got exciting (used mostly D3 & D4 & occasionally D2 over tight corners). Overall, overtaking and going uphill was a breeze and the car did not feel strained nor out of breath even for a moment. Rev meter stayed below 3000rpm most of the time. However, I was a little careless in one of the corners and the back went out of line for a split second. The car electronics took over briefly to ensure that I was pointing in the right direction. Gotta thank BMW for that if not I could have ended in the ditch. FC is fantastic, came back covering 630km with slightly less than half a tank left. OBC still reads another 450km before refueling required.

On my way downhill, trailed a Honda Accord, Vios & a Merc C200 CGI. Noticed that I brake far lesser and later into corners. Worse was the Vios and Accord. Car seemed to be leaning all over the place at every corner but I was finally beaten by a lorry driver. I guess nothing beats experience in the corners. Haiz!

Yes, astroboy is our Club's Treasurer and he knows what is he talking about when it comes to BMWs!-Respect! Listen to him, get the 320d, don't doubt the power of diesel. The BMW modern diesel turboengines are the world's best and finest. Be proud of them-embrace diesel the way 80% of Europe car buyers have.

thanks MikeyC/Astroboy/RCBL/Fadhlan/Aeroboy/docrayboy..its make me feel excited!! like now on im thinking to have 320d...heheh!! too many question than answer on my mind n make my mind disordered.... errrrrrrrrrrrr!

Before i get my 320d,I spent a month driving a diesel C5 Exclusive in France and although it was more trimmed to a smooth powerful cruiser, speeding up to 210kmh and climbing up the Grand Alps with 4 adults,an infant, stroller with luggage was a breeze.
Thats when i come to realize how powerful diesels are,yet economical! a great combination..
and yeah about 70% vehicle in France use diesel. They do have normal and premium diesels as well.

Back in Malaysia, got my 320d which was awaiting for the acceptance, since i have booked mine prior going to France).the 320d is my first ever bimmer and its a diesel.and i am blown away by its power and frugality.

Driven it back to the East coast and with 500km on the tripmeter, half of the tank is there indicating another 450kms to go.(full tank about 55L)

Power (even in non-DS mode) and frugality (fuel efficient and costs 1.80/liter) is all that i want especially when i do a lot of travelling KL-Eastcoast.

That,my friend is my answer for ur questions, Nmr Nik Soh.
Hope you'll get yourself a 320d soon!

p/s: sorry if sidetracked this thread.had to answer the question..
(which was also off-topic in the first place). :16:

the C5 is available here and soon it's "cousin" the 508... who knows, Nasim might offer a 508 diesel! :D

Paul, yeah the C5 is here unfortunately its only petrol version and secondly dont know how reliable the distributor.they are almost like nonexistent in our local auto industry.508 gotta be in petrol version too. Pity. good cars.if only they bring in their HDi version.

I rather go for the 3 series since it has gone thru teething problems and most of issues have been rectified. The new F30 is too new for us say it is a good car. The rule is never buy new tech until it is proven. To be safe 3 series is the best buy.
