Yes.

astro, are you sure it's okay to mix RFT with non-RFT? They're of different construction and I certainly wouldn't do it, except as only a temporary measure. :eek:

U have a right to be concerned and your concern should not be too much on the tyre construction but the thread design/pattern which translates into grip or traction, it differs according to road condition and thread pattern.

To gain the best overall balance handling, its best using tyres with the same thread, both front and back because different thread pattern will result in different grip at different driving condition. Some threads are optimised for cornering which some are optimised for wet roads, so you will have to learn your car again to re-measure the over/under steer threshold if u are using mix tyres.

Even using a wider rear tyre, even similar thread and similar contruction, also will be a concern because you now have more rear traction.. :eek:
