Different. 325 is like round type and 335 is flat type.

Nice to know that. I guess you get it from MSD?? Still considering & might as well on my next project too :top:
Got it last week. Just had the time to install bro...fully recommended.

I use bmc drop in as well for my N54. Dont want to risk internal engine too much on open pod

I guess the engine breathes better with the BMC, thus more responsive. Did you do any mods on the exhaust bro IM?

Installed the BMC drop in filter today. Did not expect any improvement but was pleasantly surprised. One of the best little mods I've done. The car is more responsive especially in the mid to high rpm range. Slight increase in noise level at higher rpm. Overall am very satisfied...recommended.

I recently fitted a K&N filter; open pod design same as original design. Could feel improved response; but then the old filter was dirty and could hampered the air intake anyway.

Yup it will breathe better than stock filter. I just mod to quad tailpipe only. Will go for downpipe next or full system if got budget.

I'm looking at catless headers as well. Might not have much choice but magnaflow ones seems reliable. BTW, not much gain for the 2.5, so might do it much later. Thanks IM.

open pod air filter sucking hot air n deteriorates performance is apparently urban myth based on the real-life tests done here:

http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?p=26392

anyways, this CAI setup will surely breath cold air to your engine:

- Filter is located in cool location behind bumper not in hot air under hood
- High quality 304 stainless steel
- 15%+ larger high flow filter than the other brands and larger intake pipe

Bro, the only downside is if the filter was too low and if we are wading even low level flood, water might get sucked in and caused major damage.

Thats why for me drop in is good enuff. For 3 to 5hp increase or maybe 10hp not worth the cost and price. Anyway its personal preference and happy modding kui kui kui

true sifu....but for turbocharged engines, the air intake system plays a key role..not just the filter element, but the effective diameter/surface area of air sucked..combined with a proper tune n intercooler, a simple intake can produce impressive results..at least not 3 or 5hp increase laa...:vroam:
