Phew! David...I thought you'd gone a bit off the rocker... ;)

Yeah, the 3-series is a great icon and I love it. But it is not, and shouldn't be, a RM300K+ car. Then it loses it's iconic 'real driver's' appeal and becomes a loaded person's posing toy.

Above RM300K you're thinking about relative value already and quite a few other cars. Sad, but that's life. :p

You're forgetting one thing, there is room in the 3 series range, right now, for a full boat halo model, something the 325i Sports can and will fulfil, short of the niche CBU 335i E92.

Not forgetting that KL2DC. Actually, I think the 325i Sports is a nice package with the specs shown on the website. All that M Sport stuff and Satnav/i-Drive, etc. If it's priced at say RM308k, it's a LOT of goodies added for RM20K above the standard 325i.

It's just that in an ownership sense, it takes the 3-series into a different zone for me and perhaps some others. As it is, the pricing of the E90 range is already several notches up from the E46, which was several notches up from the E36. It becomes no longer the kind of car I think of when I think 3-series. The icon is growing up and moving on.

Another thing is that it would be only RM40K away from a E200K. No matter how great a car it is, it cannot compare in value with an E-class....from all angles. Value comparisons start creeping in when a car moves into a different zone.

Well the 2007 pricing is out, the 325i Sports is RM306,800.

The 325i, 320i SE and 320i are unchanged at RM288k, RM249k and RM232k. Glad that they're keeping the standard 325i. :)

That's a LOT of equipment they're adding to the Sports for 18K!

Also available this year will be the E92 coupe as 323 and 335. The 323 will be 2.5L at RM338k, the 335 is of course the 3.0L twin turbo at RM468k.

Cheque books ready guys? :D

A good deal is to wait for the new engine lineup in the coming year to see if AB will pre-reg the current E90 325i SE in the mid to high RM200k range. A few lucky fellas got the E46 325i SE with the pre-reg package at ~Rm260+k new.

That's a good idea E46Fanatic. You think they will do that? :p

BTW, you started this thread, calling it the E90 325i Sports Edition and refering to the variant as an SE. That's caused some confusion. Its not the 325i SE....it's the 325i Sports.

The CKD line-up in the website is:
320i
320i SE
325i
325i Sports

It's an important distinction because an SE is only a more luxo variant, whereas a Sports is fitted with real sports running gear as in this case. Just to let you know

Special Edition means with more features. That's all.

Sports will be totally different, means more sporty with sport features.

Agreed David, and the SE and Sports monikers mean those things throughout the BMW world. wglee reminded us of that earlier.

Test drives of the 325i Sports are expected to be available by next week. It'll take a pretty impressive test drive to make me pay >300k for a 3-series. Aaack!! My E36 was about 160K new! The next Big Sweep draw is this Sunday right?

The CBU E92 323i and 335i aren't in yet, but will be soon. Must say the range here will broaden out nicely this year! :p

my earlier guess is right...it wouldnt have been wise if BMW had priced it above RM310k...RM307k is an excellent price considering all the expensive "goodies" that come with it...standard 325 CBU was priced at RM318k not so long time ago..;)

You can't compare on that basis....

Here in the US, a fully loaded 335i sedan (all options ticked) will have a MSRP approaching USD55k. The E93 is expected to top out at USD60k...for a 3 series!!! Not too long ago this is 5 series money, and a few years before that this was 7 series money. Its the progression of things....

I noticed the BMW Malaysia website still doesn't state the price so the input by Schwepps has been invaluable. Thanks, mate! Glad to also know the 325i Sports will be available in showrooms and for test drive next week. It's funny tho that the website has now corrected the Monaco Blue colour on the 325i Sports to be identical to the offering for the standard 325i. Earlier, the colour on the 325i Sports seems brighter and more appealing somehow. Lemme do a poll on what's the best CKD colour for the E90...

Shucks. I dunno how to do a poll in this refurbished forum. But what do you guys think it's the nicest colour for the E90. The CKD offering is limited to Sparkling Graphite, Sapphire Black, Titanium Silver or Monaco Blue?!!! Please share your thoughts! I just checked with some of my girlfriends and they gave a resounding vote to Sparkling Graphite but I can't understand why??!

Actually Juan, I'm pleasantly surprised by the AB salesguy. He's called me almost every day to say the price wasn't approved yet, and then called this afternoon to give me the lowdown, and then called again this evening to try to fix a test-drive date with me for next week! We all know AB, so what gives? :)

I'm firmly Sparkling Graphite too, so can you hook me up with your girlfriends since you don't understand them?

True that... :)

I'm with you too..... Sparkling Graphite... as long as our friend can hook me up with his girlfriends.... hahaha.......

And I also dun mind changing my colour from Titanium Silver to Sparkling Graphite! hehehe.... :)

A22 Sparkling Graphite Metallic ftw.

There's a reason they use this color in all their promotional materials :p

My other favorite color on the E90 is the A34 Arctic Metallic. Both these colors are so dynamic in their color shifts.

I think they meant to say Le Mans Blue as a Sports exclusive color (its an M exclusive color, actually). They offer this blue to M-Sport models worldwide. I think they should play up the M part, its more effective/attractive marketing because it is a bonafide factory M-Sport package.

The AB Client Advisor smells a sale so he's working it big time.... :D
