E46F and I came across some CBU E90s in Sparkling Graphite on the road today and we can confirm the colour on the CBU looks so much better than the CKD version we saw in the showroom! I'm still puzzled as to why this is the case?!!

Yes, agreeable. It is confirmed that CBU SG looks better than CKD SG....

I was just wondering if there's any anti-theft feature with the 325i SP since it has GPS and other high tech stuff. I've been watching a lot of the TV series, 24 and thinking with GPS, one should be able to track car thieves and microwave 'em in your car with the touch of a remote button?!!

LOL not yet. I think in South Africa you can get some awesome anti-carjack measures/devices.

In the US and Europe, you can opt for BMW Assist (standalone or part of the ZPP package). Its basically a telemetry device with support similar to Mercedes-Benz's Teleaid and GM's OnStar. In the event your car is jacked, the BMW Assist center can track your car via GPS and assist the cops in recovery.

Btw, trivia tidbit: BMW moved the central lock button to the center dash vent location, to make it more highly visible. In the event of a car jacking, the perps would be able to see that you're only attempting to open the doors and not pull out a weapon (or otherwise), defusing a potentially deadly episode. This is input from the South African market were car jacking is rampant.

I think you can install an aftermarket tracking device in Malaysia similar to Lojack. But keep in mind, even this is not 100% effective. This device is only as good as the police support/cooperation. Nowawadays determined thieves go as far as loading the car into aluminum/tin foli lined containers that help block out the tracker signal.

At the end of the day, that's what insurance is for. If someone jacked your car, would you want it back?

JP, I just want to racun you a bit more...

Check this E90 out. Stunning, just stunning. Awesome photography as well...

Specs
  • M-Sport bodykit
  • Rear quarters widened 1.5"
  • Euro headlights/tails
  • Customized CSL-style trunk lip
  • Stage 2 power Kit (GruppeM intake, Supersprint headers, ECU)
  • 20x9.5 and 20x10.5 BBS RE forged
  • 255/30/20 and 295/25/20 Michelin Pilot Sport
  • Brembo 15" 4pot and 13.6" 4pot front/rear

The car has had a lot of custom work done but the looks is easily replicated for e.g. CF splitters/diffusers, KW suspension, Black grille, CSL trunk (or OEM spoiler), Blacklines etc.

So whadyasay, do we have a sale or what? :D

That's what I've been saying to the e46 die hards, from the get go: The E90's got a lot of potential. Even the most ardent E46er can't deny that black E90 is achingly stunning... :p

Not an E90...but pretty drool-worthy stuff.

A small outfit in Canada went ahead and made an M style kit. Their intepretation what the E92 M3 would look like. Its a pretty kit. Great value at $1k unpainted.

Check out those delicious BBS LMs...

Damn...that loaded E90 is a stunner.....really an eye opener....the modded backlights sure is a good start...hope they can do something better...

E92 is definitely a stunner..front to back..too bad in m'sia it seems out of reach for now...

The jury's still out over that Autoweek p-shop. For e.g. many doubt the license plate will move to the rear bumper. It wouldn't make sense.

i'm probably going to kena after this but i still prefer e46 M3...

Actually I still prefer the E30 M3 ... :D

I still not sure about a V8 in an M3, its just the wrong ingredient. An M3 should have a highly-tuned NA I-6. I blame the RS4, the IS-F and the C63 for this...

I think the 335i is plenty enough for me, especially tuned.

for daily use (especially in kl), 325i sport or 330i is good enough...

Actually, I'd pick a 330d or 335d....need all the torque you can handle to battle daily KL traffic at the same time minimizing those pesky petrol station stops :D
