I think pricing pressure will be downwards too, with the threat of the Merc W204 reaching our shores pretty soon. BMWM lost the golden window of opportunity to capture C-class share with the E90 in the last 2 years of the W203.

Unbelievably Disasterous Marketing. :(

In your face...

It almost looks like it needs fatter rears....

Btw, this is Monaco Blue indoors under mixed lighting (overcast day, indoor lights)

Errr...do those look like 255s to you?

Yes it was shod with 255's rears. We also saw CKD 325i's at the showroom and re-checked the rears, and it was only 225's. The CBU 325i's were shod with 245 rears if I remember right.

I met up with someone in DC who's in the know about the C-Class, the first CBU units being brought in by DC are only expected to reach our shores towards the end of this year while mass CBU and CKD units can only be expected in 2008. This does not discount the likes of Naza bringing in the cars earlier to gain first mover advantage. I'm not inclined to wait so long.

Someone from C&C told me that a 4th quarter launch is the present DCM position, but the remaining W203 units are almost all gone and there'll be pressure to bring it in earlier or MB sales will drop like a rock this year.

New pricing from DCM...only those that are equipped with engines over 3 liter are affected....pricing wise ADVANTAGE to BMW (in my biased opinion of course :) )

yep...the 325i Sports should be riding on 225/40/18-F and 255/35/18-R

325is on 159s ride on 225/45/17 all round; and 225/45/17-F 255/40/17-R for those on 161s.

Both the 193Ms and 161s are 8.5 inches wide for rear fitment and 8.0 inch wide for front fitment.

Fronts are 225/40/18 Bridgestone RFT.

(Its hard to see, i know, but its there)

Ya, I think thats right. The CBU 325i's riding on the 17"s had 255 rears as well. Makes me wonder why different specs of rear tyre sizes offered for the 17" rim option.

Similar to the E60 530i whereby the CBU 17"s had wider rears than the CKD 530i 17's.

325i CBU comes with 255 rear tires. Yup the pics looks deceiving. They look smaller than 255s

There's always a serious concern posed by car jacking when it comes to buying a new BMW and even some of our forum friends have not been spared. I was just wondering if there's any anti-theft feature with the 325i SP since it has GPS and other high tech stuff. I've been watching a lot of the TV series, 24 and thinking with GPS, one should be able to track car thieves and microwave 'em in your car with the touch of a remote button?!!

Yeh, the picts look deceiving and the 255s certainly add to the value of SP against standard version.
I am not sure whether this is inherent in most RFTs  but the Continental 225/40/17s that I am using certainly look much narrower than similarly-sized Pirelli P-Zeroes (normal tyres), for example ..... they tend to have rounded tyre walls as opposed to squarish ones.

I heard the story of a guy who once called and immobilized a stolen car and guess what? They came back and looked for him at home the next day .....

In the rear-on pix posted by 3er, the tyre doesn't even look like a 225 to me, let alone a 255. Looks like a 215! :D

Normal 255s look decidedly fat. Must be the RFT profile. Very strange huh?

Still no demo units of the Sports at any of the dealers. Don't think there will be before CNY. Very strange indeed!
