The nice thing about waiting is that it doesn't eliminate your options and just broadens it. When CKDs come in, you can still opt to pay the premium for CBU through Cartrade or Naza or even AB. At least you'll have a reference of what you could get as well with the CKD.

What I'd hope to see:

Sports Package with sports suspension, M body kit and 18" wheels (ala E60 525i CKD now)

SMG II/III transmission (wishful thinking here)

iDrive

A few of us poor souls paid Rm250+k for our kosong spec E46 325i prefacelift 4 years ago with manual adjusting seats, no rain sensor, no xenons, puny 16" 205 wheel/tyres, no DSC etc. As the years went by, folks were picking up facelifted E46 325i with full sports pack, bodykit, sports suspension, 18", sports seats, xenons, rain sensor, DSC, extra warranty for almost the same price (due to AB special promos). Pays to wait a little I guess.
:D agreed!!! good things come to those who wait..

Hi guys. Thanks for the fab reviews on the testdrives. Correct me if i'm wrong but i've been made to understand by AB that the CKD for the e90 hasn't been confirmed? Which is reasonable of course considering the recent import tariff changes of cars from ASEAN countries would make e90s manufactured in Thailand more financially feasible for BMW? Or are we still waiting for the final decision of AFTA this Aug? :dunno:

Yes. No decision yet, not a public one at least. But they're absolutely correct. Wait longer anyway. I wouldn't mind the Sport Edition that E46F has so correctly described. Still the biz.

Yup. I was one who took the early plunge and hope not to repeat the same mistake again. There's no inducement to change so fast tis time cos I finally reached my aspiration for a 6-potter in my E46 and it's still giving me loads of fun! I might even wait for facelifted E90, heh!

went to see another 325i Arctic, discover there are white LED lights under the door handle which lit up when unlocking the door...cool! very nice feature esp at nite....

Based on BMW Malaysia's recent investment of their regional parts hub in Johor (or was it Melaka?), and recent E60's all being CKD'ed its quite likely that BMW Malaysia will also CKD the 3 here as it has a lot more volume compared to the 5. If its CBU, don't they need APs to bring the car in? I know for my Jazz the AP holder was listed in the customs declaration form and there is a limited number of APs being issued out to Cartrade for BMWs now I believe.

Either ways we'd still likely see new E90 prices drop over time (or specs getting better).

Yeah its pretty cool to have those LED lights under the door handles but u need to have the Lights Package. But watching ur date gawk in awe when u bring her to ur car is all worthwhile mate! :D :D

Geez how do u guys quote from boxes, pardon my shitty knowledge in computers

A few of us bought our cars through Pat @ AB Glenmarie. She's the best sales person I've come across IMHO.. Very genuine, not pushy, invites us for events and still renews my road tax for me on an annual basis till today. 019-333-6805

Can tell her John or Fun Jin said she could give some freebies with your purchase hehe..

Juan powerblow and e46fanatic... thanks alot for the info :eek:k:
I'll give her a call and keep my fingers crossed that i'll get a 'nice' price for my dream car... a E90 325i

what are the possible 'nice' price? where there's a long waiting list up to Oct..?

spaceman... i heard from a friend that Cartrade are offering 5k discount for the 325i. Not that 'nice', but better than nothing right?
Anyone can confirm kah??
