Yes bro and actually what I meant was to compare/know the actual price of the part. In this example, BA quoted RM1366 and your mechanic quoted RM1500 inclusive installation so personally I feel it's a fair price. However if the part itself is RM1200 (example) and he quote you RM1500 then that's a bit over priced in my opinion. That's how I normally do it so if possible, get a breakdown of all the parts you have been asked to changed and try to see if it's reasonably charged.

Thanks aoch88..

e60 orginal shock absorber is Sach. Replacement is BOGE. Both Sach and Boge are part of the ZF Group.

Imagine yesterday I got a shock from Auto Bavaria. they told me thru the reception (the technician too busy to come out) the 4 shock absorbers c/w mountings & installation charges estimated at abt RM8k+2k=RM10k! I asked them what brand did they use, they just said it's BMW!

BOGE c/w mountings only cost abt RM500+ x4 =RM2-3k

Herbert, thanks for the info on the ZF group. I missed the last seminar they organised:(

My pleasure boss :)

Btw to add on, I went for servicing today:
7 litres Torco Fully Synthetic 10W-40W oil = RM400 (bought from a friend/distributor)
1 x Original BMW oil filter = RM36 (Bavarian Auto)
6 x NGK Spark Plugs = RM34 x 6 = RM204
1 x Labour + OBD checking, etc = RM120

Total damage: RM 760

Did my servicing upon advice from fellow forummers to do it every 6 months instead of reaching targeted KM's.

1. Motor oil full synth 6.5 lit - RM349 (tambah RM11 from previous change)
2. Oil filter - RM48 (tambah RM6 from previous change)
3. Engine flush 1 can - RM20
4. Brake Service - RM30
5. Auto Transmission Fluid 4 lit @ RM85 - RM340
6. Labour for All above - RM45 (Less from previous services by RM125)

Total - RM834.70 (include RM2.70 6% GST)

Serviced at Mechanikar, Taman Mayang.

Bro desbimmer, how come you need to top up transmission fluid up to 4 liter?

erm...I dunno? I don't even know what's the limit to that :p I trust my trusty mechs know what they are doing :)

Hahaha, ok boss. I thought we only change ATF fluid but didn't know have to top up

Most of the brands are semi synthetic but I'm using Torco SR-1 fully synthetic. It's a bit expensive than the rest but so far I'm loving it :) Engine feels lighter too.

I'm not so familiar, what's KW V2 Coilover?

As I said earlier, if I want to change, I won't go to AB for that as it's so exorbitant and service was bad.

Replace. according to he technical.advisor, Recommend to change at 60k.

Oh ok but they didn't replace the ATF oil pan? Normally they will replace it whenever we change ATF fluid because there's a filter built in on the pan.

not sure... just follow the service adviser's recommendations.

I change ATF oil every 20k km and the gear oil pan / filter every 40k km.
