i think if u all want to save, u can buy directly from the bavarian, the spark plug only Rm20, but the mech will charge u RM32min - 6 pieces, the spark plug coil only RM80 each but the mech charge u RM180 - 6 pieces, thermostat RM150 each but the mech charge u RM185-RM200. So, actually I felt cheated by my mech after calling the bavarian to check out the price, on top of the part which he charge extra expensive he also charge for labour..I paid extra of RM800 and labor another RM80. Next time, I will go to another workshop and ask them how much they charge for labor only and i will buy those parts myself, of course pls don't let the mech to dismantle yet. hope those mechanics out there don't cut BM owner throat la..

agree with you golf7109 .. last week my thermostat diagnosed with sensor prob .. one workshop quote me around RM500 for thermostat replacement including labour .. another one quote me RM700 .. i check with bavarian auto .. thermostat price for N52 only RM215 .. go there buy thermostat and coolant .. ask my friends to replace.. took less than an hour .. labour charge ..? harga kawan-kawan .. belanja makan aje .. hehe

Heard a soft gurgle of somewhat loose metal being shaken in a container when I was warming down my car after a drive - only today as I make it a habit to listen to my car every now and then. Did not like it and immediately sent it for a diagnose. Boss of the shop let me 'listen' to the problem which was the water pump. I also asked about the burning smell when I drive somewhat like a speed demon when on the highway and he said to change the gasket as well. Have yet to test if that was the culprit but I do trust him and his knowledge a lot. Also asked him about the 'click' sound every time I turn off my engine and he said it was normal. Seeing that I was skeptical, he let me listen to the other two 5 series in the shop and true enough it is a common sound! hehehe....I always tot it was a problem... Job well done.

2. Radiator Coolant @ RM38 each (4 bottles) - RM152
3. Valve Cover Gasket - RM110
4. Valve Cover grommet @ 15 x RM5 - RM75
5. Labour Charge - RM160

hi bro, i saw a little bit of lub came out around the screws of the valve cover.
do u think it is caused by the items 3 & 4 mentioned above??? please advise... TQ...

i saw some cracking at the aircon belt. Anyone has idea how much would that cost to change the belt?????

Hi bro! Best get the opinion of the mech for the lub on valve cover. Tell tale sign will be the burning smell when you rev your car. As for air con belt I have not changed mine yet so I can't give you an estimate.

Got quotation for Bridgestone RFT 245/40/18 @ RM1950.
So switch to PS3 @ RM1050.
Spare tyre with tools @ RM1,400.

yes agree with you bro... just changed my rear trunk damper... was quoted by mechanic RM 750, refuse to change.. go to Bavarian auto buy the damper RM 512 and bring to mechanic only pay RM 50 for labour... save RM 200 for my RON 97 full tank...
