A mechanic change a wrong engines oil lucas 5w-30 ti my e60 525.
Ni power . Bad felt consumption.
Called to complain.
Will re change a new 5w-40.
Is that correct .?

I also use Castrol Edge 5w-40

u can buy the BMW engine oil from Bavarian Auto which cost Rm30/l/bottle, 7 X 30 Rm210, 5w also.

so can't let me to bring outside oils. After that . Will do that. Did u all got buy any warranty to your car...?

Hello everybody,

My babe has started servicing outside of BMW dealer and I would like to share (and advice from any of the sifu here) on the cost incurred:

1. Castro Edge Fully Synthetic 6 litres = $345.00
2. Oil Filter = $68.00
3. Front brake pads = $560.00
4. Front brake wire sensors = $70.00

The brake set is original BMW (saw a BMW guy coming by dropping off the parts.....). Mine is the 525i, April 2010 local model.

Would appreciate if y'all can advice what else needs to be done around 43,000km? The mechanic said they've done the necessary checking and all seems to be working ok, no need to replace anything yet

Several times i tried the oil that sold by BA which claims to be 5w fully syntetic but i feel my consumption is bad.

So i change back to Castrol Edge Sport and everything back to normal. I also feel the frequency of the oil change will maintain a good consumption.

I just purchased five year old E60, 520d with a mileage of 100,000km. :love: I would like to seek advise on preventive maintenance. My questions are as below:

1) Breakdown - What are the Top 10 breakdown causes for this model?

2) EWP - Which are reliable EWP Workshops for this model in Klang Valley and Kuantan?

3) BMW Official Service - From my research at the old club website, Wearnes and Quill have good reputation as Official Service Dealers. Do their good reputations still stand and are there any others that are equal or better?

Any fault to the car after use . Wana save cost for every service.

k&n drop in air filter is okay..... just watch out the lube oil..... not to eccesive . could cause error on MAF sensor
