My service and maintenance record staggered over a few months (not necessary in chronological order) and not inclusive of labour:-

1. water pump - RM250
2. respray front bumper - RM220
3. front brake pad & sensor - RM430 & RM55
4. spark plug coil - RM130 x 6 = RM780
5. auto transmission oil - 7 litres x RM50
6. auto filter oil sump - RM300
7. lower control arm - RM700
8. upper control arm - RM760
9. thermostat - RM250
10.expansion tank - RM350
11. BMW ori coolant - RM45
12.top hose - RM275

Water still mysteriously disappear slowly from my expansion tank (at the rate of 1 litre per week) despite no sign of leaking and having changed all the above including the tank, water pump, thermostat and a few hoses. Sigh

Can you check your control arm price - maybe yours is a e60 but for the e46 its not so much

I think you need to go down engine oil service.

finish means ur engine is eating em oil..pray its not a head gasket fault or its major overhaul job

Anyone here can give some advice on the cost of replace the steering rack. Do u recommend to get the second hand one from those old parts shops?

Also any workshop you recommend to go for service with a very reasonable Labour cost. As usual I will buy parts from bavarian auto which much cheaper than those so called BM specialist workshop. U can always check the price from them and compared to those workshop. However I found that those workshop they charge a very expensive labor cost. Just like u bring your own whisky to pub they charge expensive corkage charge.

I dont know if i paid too much but i was charged RM 1250 for 2nd hand steering rack
