Desbimmer,

You mean your mech said it was the valvebody? Does he change the whole unit? RM4k is brand new or used?
How long he give warranty on this? Actually its common problem for 6 speed gbox for E60.

This is how the valvebody look like

bro, i gave the option to my mech for new or reconcile and he adviced me recon as the warranty he is giving me is pretty ok. basically, he says not to worry as he will take care of it as long as i own this car :)
should be about 4k++ so am just waiting around for his call.. not too anxious as i dont plan to go anywhere this week as well...
thanks very much for posting the picture as well as i always tot it was a small item...eheheh...

Just got news from another forum member here harry_7 that the item will cost rm4.5k and 6 months warranty upon checking with my mech as he has the same symptoms as my car as well...

desbimmer,

Have you taught of buying the parts from SG ? most of my parts i bought from Sg as it is much cheaper compare MY. After i see ur post i also worry if it happen to myself. Good luck bro

Okie. Money happily spent today for my Valve body.
1) Supply, rebuild valve body - auto transmission fluid Z6, installation and coding - RM4.5k.
Warranty 20,000km or 6 months (whichever comes first)

Thanks Anthony for the idea on SG and I will come to that next time if the timing is such that I am there and the problem (and the solution is made know to me then as well). It's all about timing for me this time as I had no intention to do it and it was a sudden impulse thing :) I don't regret it one bit though cause now it feels right....

Hi all,

Hope you can help me. This morning I sent my E60 (2008) to Quill Motor for service due. The car is no longer under warranty and BSRI (just 3 months over :frown:). The SA told me that the front break pads, brake sensor and brake fluid need to be replaced. I ask for quotation and was given the following excluding labour :

Front Brake Pads - 800
Brake Sensor - 170
Brake Fluid - 65

I know these are original parts but there are definitely better prices out there. Can anyone recommend shop in PJ/Sunway area for better price if I go with original parts? On the topic of original vs OEM parts, anyone can recommend which OEM parts are better and their prices?

Thanks.

My goodness that's damn expensive .

I've changed mine (E60 525i) recently at my BMW specialist mechanic for

1. compatible german made front brake pad for RM 250
2. sensor RM50
3. Brake fluid RM30

Never send to Sapura, Quill or even AB . we pay more for their expansive showrooms, their high overheads, their brands......

Replace my front wheel bearing today.

Damansara
1. Front right wheel bearing - RM 390.00
2. Labour - RM 80.00

*can done RM400 @ USJ but i need to meet client at Damansara,so...:102:*

The pricing appeared reasonable as compared with what Tungsten Blue posted below

Bought from Bavarian Auto USJ
. Microfilter for e 60 = RM140 two pieces

Bro,
Just to share a Malaysia Boleh tip. Just seal up the air-cond inlet vents with a cut-out sponge and this will cut out all external smell from entering the cabin. The best part is you will save the cost of changing the microfilter for life!

p/s: just pay a visit to Naidu, located behind Shell station, Jalan Gasing. Cost you less than RM50 and done in 20 min.

E60 Aircond symptoms

Hi guys, would like to ask everybody who has experience with E60 air cond. My car air cond keep blowing hot air at first but after jalan it becomes normal. Hot whether is the worst, takes slightly longer to become normal.

Any idea what is the problem? by the way one of the air cond shop in sunway told me it is the compressor problem and quoted me RM2,2k+ for a replacement.
