They said either wait around for 3 hours or if I don't want to wait they will take out the parts and I can come the next day for a 30 min installation :)

Anyone else got a cheaper quote??
Bro! Can try Ghetto (Equine Park) near Jaya Jusco.

I just change my wiper recently at a work shop in old kelang road as I feel it is the cheapest I can get. Rm 155. Is this price reasonable for e60?

Rear brake pad Rm280 for 2 pairs
Alignment and balancing Rm70
Rear brake sensor Rm65
Two new tyre Rm1060
Adjust rear camber Rm120

Total have spent RM1590 ~ dont know whether is it expensive but i love the feel after doing this^_^

Sounds interesting . The rear brake pad are from rm280-rm 480 in this forum. Wondering what is the different between them?

Did u change the oil sleeve when changing the gearbox oil pan? Is the workshop specialise in BMW and E60?

Just a quick one. I was loitering around Sunway Car Haven yesterday and pop into one of the shops and was quoted RM650 (can go to RM600 if I did it then and there) to change all my interior parts to 3M Carbon fiber. Is that a ok price?

is the price for the carbon sticker or the original carbon fiber?

Bad day

Heard of Quill automobile having a service campaign, so went there for a check. I call up and the price was cheap which only RM 460.00 including of engine oil,oil filter and labour. Than make an appointment and went there straight. When i arrive better ask to reconfirm one more time regards about the chargers. So its all that mentioned on the phone. So decided ok give it a try, suddently a question pop up. When was your last time servicing in BMW authorised service centre? WTF i ask why? They reply, if your car have not been service in our authorise service centre more than 1 year than you will need to do the through inspection on your car between RM 550 - Rm 600 just for checking your car suspension and oil leakage where we can get it free from our usual mechanic. So if you dont agree with this request, than sorry to say we cant proceed with your car. Really potong stim. So i just F*** off.

Doesn't mean authorised dealer better. Unless your car still under warranty ok la. I rather change oil every 5k km which is much better. Also I can monitor my mech doing my car and I can inspect and look at the car and repair being done.

Hi all,

Hope you can help me. This morning I sent my E60 (2008) to Quill Motor for service due. The car is no longer under warranty and BSRI (just 3 months over :frown:). The SA told me that the front break pads, brake sensor and brake fluid need to be replaced. I ask for quotation and was given the following excluding labour :

Front Brake Pads - 800
Brake Sensor - 170
Brake Fluid - 65

I know these are original parts but there are definitely better prices out there. Can anyone recommend shop in PJ/Sunway area for better price if I go with original parts? On the topic of original vs OEM parts, anyone can recommend which OEM parts are better and their prices?

Thanks.

Bro tungsten, may be you shud give it a try to others specialist. As mentioned by bro initialM which I fully agree. Mine service at usj 1- ks auto. I did change engine oil,oil filter, front brake pad with sensor and engine flush. All for rm1050.

The price quoted was rather high. Even original brake pads should be around RM 500-600 and brake sensor is below RM 100. You should check out Bavarian Auto for pricing comparison. OEM brake pads, made in Germany cost RM 230 (front) and RM 190 (rear). Most common OEM for brake pads are Jurid or Textra. I know many owners use a combo, original brake disc with OEM pads.

Well, Quill is an authorized dealer so obviously their charges would be a lot more expensive. If you compare with outside prices, definitely Quill will cost terribly more. However if you don't mind doing it outside (BMW specialist workshops), I can tell you that the brake pads (Textar) is only RM180-200 range, brake sensor is RM50, brake fluid is RM50 per litre. Price is based on what I paid for and if you buy directly from Bavarian Auto, it's also cheaper. Good luck :)

Bavarian Auto
Starter for N52 engine (late 2005 onwards) RM560

Coincidentally my car failed to start one fine morning. Since I had recently changed my battery, it's impossible that battery was the one giving me problem. Read through the merajuk thread and realised that I faced similar problem.

Update: Since I changed my battery negative cable few months back (or weeks), I did not get the 'transmission failure' sign when I drove around and on some hills...until last week. it came back and the same symptoms as all my previous ones...going downhill and when it is shifting from 3-2 gear. After that I got a bit fed up and started trashing the car cause I was prepared to change the gearbox or valve throttle or whatever! Went back to my mech this morning cause I got the 'transmission failure' again after driving crazy and I was also free. My mech took the car and drove from Kelana Jaya-Setia Alam-Subang and back with me at passenger side and he diagnosed and confirmed that it was the valve thinghi that I needed to replace. I opted to do it there and then and I was car-less an hour later :) Suppose to get back my car tmmrw afternoon...not sure the cost but he did say it was about 4k+ and I had warranty on it as well. Personally am not worried cause I know my mech knows what he is doing. Sure, the pricing may differ and I MAY get it cheaper elsewhere but my convenience, time and trust I have with the foreman and boss gives me comfort that my car will be taken care off :)

So my advice to the rest suffering from jerky downshifts, erratic gear changes when driving insanely is to not bother and just get the matter diagnosed and take the plunge to change the item no matter the cost. I HOPE to be getting a crazy smooth ride once I get back my car :)
