Any updates on this?

The latest update:

Alhamdulilah the GPS Nav system is fully function right now with the latest 2010 map in it. I got the the CD from the dealer since the Cd been shipped out by my friend broke during shipment. He return my money and I buy the new one from the dealer.

But compare to the Garmin mobile GPS initialization speed, it a bit slower, which I believe because of the MK-III CD-Rom base effect, it would be faster if I use the MK4 DVD-Rom base. But it's ok then, since the screen now appearing something, I happy enuf now.

But the only thing that quite annoying is that there have some place that you cannot put the full address because the map doesn't recognize the place. For example, if I want to go to Jalan 13, Bukit Antarabangsa, then I only can input "Bukit Antarabangsa" as first address instead of "Jalan 13", since there's no option for it. But when you arrive at destination, there shouldn't be a problem to save the location for future references.

Like I promised earlier, I will try to copy the CD and try load it into my MK3 comp, if it not protected, so I'll send the PM to you guys. Lets pray together.. :p .The next project is to install the TV Tuner on the system, but because of the time constrains and too long spent offshore, it'll be delayed.

Thanks guys for the support!!

OK now this is interesting, I'm in too with the rest of the guys! (For whatever reason, I feel want to participate in this too)

Did u guys have DVD ? mine is outdated, need newer version :D

I think it should be fine with CD to be inserted to your DVD MK4 processor. If anyone have info regarding to this, feel free to share. Otherwise if it cannot, is it possible to convert the map from CD version to DVD copy?

I'm using my previous CD Changer (with BMW Business Radio) and just plug in the cables socket.

This is the BMW Business Radio that I used before, and now it's open for sale.. hehehe

The problem comes in with the Nav display when the socket is wrongly colored by the manufacturer (by the way, eventhough the cabling system is a brand new, but it is made by after market company), that's why there's got some silly error.

So, I just switched the socket with maroon and white coupling sockets (originally suppose to be plugged at MK3 comp) with the blue and white coupling sockets (suppose to be plugged to TV Tuner module).

The cd IS compatible with the DVD MKIV nav. The CD is sufficient for us, the DVD is meant for large countries like USA where previously they were provided with 6 CD to cover the whole USA,when MKIV was introduced it removes the hassle of swapping map CDs as one travel across the country as the whole map will fit into a single DVD.

My Garmin and Tomtom GPS map for Malaysia is only around 50MB, I dont see why you would need a DVD for that amount of data.

I'm just asking on behalf of brader perryyip73 since me myself also not sure whether the MK4 can read CD or not since mine is only CD-rom..

Ape cerite bro?? Demmm...it's a small world...jom TT weekend nih..didnt expect to meet another fellow "blue blood" in this forum..hahaha

aiks..wah lagi confuse..hehe :stupid:

Actually mine, radio are working perfectly..except cant listen to all station because still using old verson of antenna amplifier..theres a lot used unit in ebay but most of them are 315mhz and mine is 415mhz.

The problem at the moment is cd changer dont have sound because socket in retrofit cable are not same with the one behind HU. Dont know wether have to get correct socket or not. So temporary solution i just ask acc shop slice and tap wire from cs changer to radio tuner wire.got sound but damn the quality suck! distort and got weird sound every time track changing...till now i still dont get good solution for it.

I guess this is not only the good news for me, but most of you, folks and i glad to share here the happiness..

As promised, you guys can place the order placement for that CD. I just want to separate the cost, hence only 10 copies of the CD will be released.

Thanks for the support!!!
