If you have 140K to spare, best car to get today is E90 320d otherwise, RM90K can get you a nice E60 530d

anaksarawak;837077 said:A well maintained N42/46 will give you the best FC, roadtax and higher resell value when fuel price rocket upwards in the near future.
M43 is a little too old and its SOHC, only produces 103bhp and 165 nm instead of 150bhp and 200nm from N42/46. Therefore if you demand a sporty performance from your BMW M43 is not the engine for you. You will fell its like Proton Persona 1.3
disclaimer : If you love to rempit and enjoy the UDM full potential M54B30 is the best engine, however if roadtax is your concern then M54B25 is the solution but FC is higher vs M54B30. N42/46 will have similar FC as per M54B25 if you tekan a lot

Go under secton "Petrol engines". M54 is the last gen of 6cylinder engines before BMW AG moved on to the N-series magnesium engines on the E90 and E60s (2006 onwards) and is the younger brother of the M52TU.
M43TUB19 is the 1900cc 4cylinders awhile N42/46B20 is the 2000cc 4cylinders.

m54b30 on average: city drive - 12- 12.3 L/km @ NA
hope its useful for u to decide if fuel consumption is one of your concern.

Most suitable with be e46 I guess. Cause at least can cover for petrol, installment and also savings for maintenance.
Hang on bro, I think you mistakenly type 530d. It's 520d right?

Advise is to test all of the variants and decide from there. But first is to shortlist a few. Selection is the key.
anaksarawak;837331 said:Its E60 530d bro.. thats the ultimate comfort, power and economy. RM80+K put it among the best valued BMW now.
By the way did you say 2.5K-3K basic salary? I hope you have sufficient commission and allowance as 10 years old E46 is not cheap to maintain bro.
wingzee;837352 said:Close RM25k in maintenance and RM15k in mods. But mine is an exceptional case as I'm being too anal when comes to nitty gritty parts of the car.
anaksarawak;837338 said:Ya ..parts r cheap but so many to replace and after 10 years all start to rosak. Do ask wingzee how much he spent for maintaining his car
