Manual gbox for e46 n42

Hi guys just a question, which manual gearbox best fits the n42 engine in a e46?

I read somewhere it was the getrag220, but wasnt the 220's used in e36ers?

Im asking becoz i am closing in on purchasing an e36 328ci mt. Intending to swap in an s54b32 in with the 6spd getrag265. So that would leave me with the 220 which if possible i wanna use in my e46 then. Would the prop shaft, flywheel, clutch and rear diff fit the e46, since its from an e36 coupe? Would it then be easy to source for the pedals and gbox mounts for the e46 as these items would remain in the e36?
