Hello to all sifu's out there.Any one knows what the price of E46 M3 half cut?because I planned to change my engine E46 N42 (2004) to M3 engine.How much I need to spend for this?Any one have experience regarding this matters?Best regards,pudin6037.

Unless you can get the halfcut for cheap (real cheap), otherwise, better to sell the car and get the real M3.

Its not as simple a swap as you think it is bro. If it was that easy, i think a lot of e46 (not just n42s) owners would have converted. When you change to the M3 engine, you would also have to change every other single parts in the car. ALL OF IT (i think - do correct me if im misleading). Its a major transplant. Engine, transmission, electrical, modules, brakes, cooling...the works. As fabianyee said, get a real m3 instead. lesser headache and heartache.

Halfcut prices for non-M BMW engines also asking for crazy prices nowadays, >15k.
for E46 M3 engine, might have to book and order. Maybe RM40K-50K. (just a guess)
and prepare for 10k-15k for conversion plus replacement of wear and tear items. (could be more hidden cost)
That's 60k-70k CASH...

U might end up spending more in the end, and then ask urself why didn't you just buy an used M3 instead..

Saw a few M3s going for about RM120-130k nowadays. Might as well get a proper M car than to do the engine swap. Less headache.

Good thinking... Actually, if you're a grease monkey and knows your way around the engine, then it's a good project to do... But if you're going to just let the workshop do it for you, then it's a bottomless pit.
