Hi guys, I am getting my first BMW very soon. 2001 325i, 75850 km. Got it for RM 131k. Sent the car to a BMW specialist at at Bavian Benz at Sg. Besi Chan Sow Lin rd for a diagnosis and was advised to do the following services:1. Control Arm Bush x 2 = RM400 + 120 lbr2. ATF Fluid = RM 220 + 40 lbr3. AT filter & gasket = RM 2004. Wishbone Arms x 2 = RM 1140 5. Expansion Tank = RM 2956. Power Steering hose x 2 =RM 250 + RM 60 lbr7. Alt Belt = RM 89 + RM 40 lbr8. Valve cova gasket = RM 105 + RM 60 lbr9. Oild filter hse gasket = RM 28010. Rear Brake pad = RM 345 ori, RM 245 OEM + RM 60 lbr11. Rear Brake Disc x 2 = RM 45012. Front Brake Disc x 2 = RM 490 + RM 60 lbr13. Spark Plug x 6 (RM45/pcs) = RM 260 + RM 60 lbr Would like to get some feedback from with sifus and experienced UDM drivers. Anyone send their cars for service?? Are the mechanic reliable and the price ok?I really can't wait to get them fix and get behind the wheel..... :D Guess most of share my feeling when u first got urs.... Thnx for the sharing

Maybe should get another mech to take a look at the items that need to be changed? That is one hefty bill...

So many things to change n ur still cool. you must be rich.
& separate labor for each item. :eek:
 
In fact the seller wanted to sell at RM135k. I took it to the mech and negotiated with the seller for a dicounted price (after minus the few grand repair work). Nevertheless, Seems like most replies indicates that the prices quoted are rather on the high side... Any suggestion for a second opinion from reliable/reasonable mech in KL/PJ area.. Heard of M1 from Kayu Ara area...

I agree with ade and aramis, get a second quote before u commit coz it will cost u few thousands and not hundreds

yeah, ah meng in USJ is reliable (most important he dun simply ask u to change unneccessary things)
 
M-speed in USJ is very reasonable. like wat mouse n chauffeur mentioned, look for ah meng..!

Better read more on this subject here and check your mech credentials before he touches your auto tranny.

These are all common replacement wear and tear bits for the E46. Price wise it looks about right to me (i.e. not ripoff), but one thing you can chk is when some of the above items was last changed by the previous owner to get an indication if a replacement s needed now or a few months down the road. If it was never done, then ya, its about time la.
