yup.. can with a litle brain from teh mechanics.. but most wont do it as they do not understand what is the accumulator doing. It is just a precharge of 155 bar of nitrogen rubber bladder in a steel ball.

E38 acu. I bought new RM440 each (oem), but for the original one B.A told me its more than double!

AAM, I have new one installed but I am still work on it because problem still not solve so might have to wait untill problem settle. and Its only a pair needed for the rear system.

Regarding E38 bumpy ride feel!!! (especially at the rear)

Dear sifu, please tell me If I have over look anything!!!
(www.e38.org was being study from day one and more than one time)

JOb been done:-
1-use E38 specified/indicated fluid to flush and bleed the system accordingly, (few time, few specified location).
2-clean, service and even replace the levering control valve, (swap with other menber with system ok E38)
3-replace brand new (oem) accumulator (pair)
4-adjustment was done with the ride sit on the ground accordingly. (high, medium or low was the same feeling)
5-GT one scan was ok with no falt code.

Going to or should I check also:-(how to?)
1-main fluid preassure pump in the front engine compartment?
2-rear suspention?
3-S-EDC switches or any other switches affected?
4-any main control module affected?
5-will the speed controler module affect the ride feel? What to do?
6-will the rear brake light sensor affect the ride feel? what to do?

Kenny, my knowledge on the SLS is limited. However a friend of mine (DIYer) is quite an expert with the SLS of the Mercedes Benz. He even taught our MB specialist on how to repair the system. I believe both MB or BMW SLS are similar in design and how it works.

If you really can't get it resolved, maybe you can bring the car to KL and I will ask him to see how he could be of help or you can give him (NPK) a call 0193102880 Just mention my name & I am sure he will render whatever assistance you need.

BTW in the course of his business he travels to Johor every now and then. Anyway just give him a call lah.
